SEARCHING FOR A GREAT CLASSIC MUSCLE CAR CONVERTIBLE THAT HAS BEEN PROFESSIONALLY RESTORED AND IS TURN KEY READY TO DRIVE AND ENJOY?ARE YOU A PONTIAC FAN BUT WANT AN AFFORDABLE CLASSIC WITH GREAT EYE APPEAL THAT YOU CAN TAKE TO THE LOCAL SHOWS, RUISE-INS, nbsp;OR JUST ENJOY, OP DOWN ON SUNNY DAYS?WOULD YOU LIKE SOMETHING THAT STANDS OUT IN A CROWD, AS A GREAT STANCE, ND SOUNDS A S GOOD AS IT LOOKS?DO YOU WANT A CAR THAT IS EASY TO DRIVE WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, OWER STEERING, ND POWER DISC BRAKES?DO YOU LIVE IN A WARM CLIMATE AND REALLY WANT A CAR WITH UPDATED COLD AIR CONDITIONING WHEN IT IS NEEDED?WELL, F YOU HAVE BEEN SHAKING YOUR HEAD YES, HIS '68 LEMANS CONVERTIBLE MIGHT JUST BE THE CAR YOU HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!This beautiful 1968 Pontiac Lemans has lived its whole life in the Atlanta, eorgia area and was owned by one family until about 5 years ago when it was purchased by an Atlanta Police officer. He bought it in 2010 from the grand daughter of the original owner. It had barely been driven for years but the body was virtually rust free and completely original. It still had the original 350 V8 and had obviously been garage kept its whole life and very well taken care of. The car had just over 51,000 miles on it and he was told that was the accurate original mileage although there was no real paperwork history to document that. He wanted to transform this plain jane Lemans Convertible in to an eye catching muscle car convertible that would turn heads and would also be super reliable so that he could drive and enjoy it on Sunny Atlanta days. So many of these cars get cloned in to GTO's but there is something to be said for keeping this car more original but with a slightly rest-modded flare. He located a great restoration shop in the Atlanta area and a little over a year later the restoration was completed. He has throughly enjoyed this Lemans Convertible over the years but has decided he just does not get the chance to drive and enjoy the car as much as he planned so he has decided to let the next lucky owner enjoy it....maybe you??!! Although I own the majority of my inventory, his particular car is currently on consignment and is listed on my website and several others. I have personally driven the car and it runs fantastic! If you would like to put this beauty in your garage before the next car guy or gal does feel free to give me a call to discuss how we can make that happen! As I mentioned, his '68 Lemans has spent its life in the Atlanta, eorgia area and as a result lived a very rust free life. I believe this car still wears all of its original body panels and the car is very straight!!! Body lines and gaps are excellent and doors open and shut with ease. The body was professionally restored by Southeastern Auto Works in Cartersville, A and they did a great job on the paint and body. The color is a GM color called Atomic Orange. It has a nice light metallic to it and the pictures really do not do it justice. It was overcast when I took most of the body pics outside so the color looks a little darker. In the bright sunlight the car really pops and takes a slightly brighter tone. You can see this in some of the pics I took inside my showroom. This color really fits this car well and accented with the chrome and after market wheels is a real show stopper! Front and rear bumper are original and were re-chromed. The rest of the chrome and stainless all look great. Glass all looks very good and windows roll up and down nicely. Great looking hood tach was added that functions well. There is no bubbling or sign of rust anywhere that I saw on the body of this '68. The only real flaw I noticed was a very small hairline crack in the the paint behind the convertible top on the passenger side which is quite common. One of the rear taillight lenses is cracked. There may be a few very tiny rock chips but otherwise the body is near flawless. Overall paint quality is excellent and I believe it can even be taken up a notch with a good wet sand and buff. This is a car you will be proud to take to the local shows and cruise-ins and will get plenty of thumbs upeverywhere you go! I think the photo tour of the body below will show you what you want to know. The current owner could not remember the last time he had the top up and I hope the next owner will drive this car as often as possible with the sun in their face and wind in their hair but it is nice to know that the black, ower convertible top is in excellent condition if needed. The top may very well be original but is still in great condition with no holes or tears. It has the glass back window which is crystal clear. The top has been down for quite a while so you may see some wrinkles in the pictures below. It went up and down nicely and sealed up nicely and latched down easily. The original boot cover was not in good shape so the next owner might want to add a new boot cover to give it a cleaner look when the top is down. This Lemans looks awesome with the top up....take a look:Complimenting the gorgeous Atomic Orange Metallic exterior is an awesome black bucket seat interior that was also completely redone at the time of restoration a couple of years ago. The seats look fantastic and are very comfortable. Carpeting was replaced and door panels look very good. The original dash is in great shape with just a few very minor hairline cracks starting. A great looking Lecarra Steering wheel was added to give the interior a more updated look but the original steering wheel will be included with the sale. Center console appears original and is in very good condition. Great sounding am/fm/cd stereo was neatly installed in the original radio hole and speakers were neatly added in the rear interior panels. Other then a few signs of age on some of the interior components the interior looks fantastic. All of the gauges and lights appear to be working correctly. An aftermarket temperature gauge was added under the dash as well as charger for your cell phone. Lets not forget the ice cold A/c that was also updated at the time of the restoration. Take a look inside:This '68 Lemans Convertible has its original 350 V8 still under the hood. The motor was pulled at the time of restoration and still looked very fresh as would be expected from a classic with just over 50,000 miles. The car was running great but the current owner wanted a slight boost in performance so he upgraded the original 2bbl intake and carburetor to an Edelbrock aluminum intake and Holley 4bbl. A nice set of headers were added and all new dual exhaust was run giving this Lemans a great muscle car tone! At the time the motor was pulled the engine bay was painted the same as the body and the engine block was also painted body color. He also converted the ignition to an electronic ignition, new battery and new starter for quick and easy starting. This was an original factory a/c car but he wanted the a/c to perform to todays standards so an upgraded compressor was added and the system was converted to R134 refrigerant. This Lemans still has the original turbo 350 Automatic transmission that shifts out nicely. Original 10 bolt rear end. This Lemans will cruise at todays highway speeds all day and will gladly take you over the speed limit when desired. All new seals and this car does not leak a drop of anything from what I have seen. This is a great little cruiser that is extremely easy to drive thanks to the power steering and power front disc brakes. Suspension feels great and the car handles the road very nicely and seems to run cool with no overheating issues. The current owner never hesitated to get in and drive this car anywhere although he only accumulated a little over 1000 miles over the last few years. As you can see this '68 has a great muscle car stance thanks to the polished 18" Boss wheels wrapped in a great set of Cooper Radials with about 80% tread left. This Lemans is ready to drive and enjoy!!! Make sure you watch the video below so you can hear this car start up and running! Thanks to the great life this car had in the Atlanta area the inside of the trunk and undercarriage are rock solid and rust free. While the trunk has not been detailed out you can see in the pictures below it has not had any rust issues or patches done. It is rock solid and with a few hours of work could be nicely detailed for the shows. The floor pans are also all rock solid, riginal and rust free and again with a few hours work the undercarriage could be nicely detailed as well if desired. This car is not a trailer queen but it will still do very well at the local shows and cruise-ins if that is what you enjoy.
