16K all Original Miles!!! TRUE SURVIVOR!!! Unrestore, riginal, nd Rare Condition 1981 Special Edition with matching numbers. This car is unofficially known by Trans Am and Pontiac Enthusiasts as.... the "Smokey and the Bandit" . This Beautiful Car is Documented as an Y84 with WS6 Performance Package 301 V8 Turbo, bbl carb with automatic transmission. All Original... Paint, ird, rivetrain, ransmission, Interior, adging, arb, urbo, tc. In 1981 there were only 3,050 Special Editions made (only about a 1000 with same color combination of Black and Tan, nd options). A car can only be Original Once. Once your restore it...it's not Original.
The car was made famous by Burt Reynolds in the classic "Smokey and the Bandit" movie. Some of the Special Editions came with black interior. Most of the Bandit's with black interiors... tended to fade over time. This car has four wheel disc brakes, ower windows, ower locks, urbo indicator lights, ear Defrost, /C, S6 Performance Package, iebart Rust Protection, tc.
As stated before... this car only about SIXTEEN THOUSAND UNRESTORED ORIGINAL MILES. The car still SMELLS NEW!!!The dash is perfect with no cracks or fading. Steering wheel is perfect with no wear and tear. The headliner is perfect. Door trim is still nice and the seats are almost in perfect condition. The car still has all original badging which is in excellent condition. As you can see from pics the paint is still in good condition.
The car has never been driven in snow or in winter. Car has only been driven on nice days in spring/summer. Car has always been garaged stored. Car has never been in a wreck or had any insurance claims. This is a completely unrestored car in original condition. The car is a Pontiac Historical Services documented Y84 special edition with WS6 Performance Package.
The Car has been in my family for 33 years. My father originally bought the car in May of 1982 with only 5,548 original miles. He bought the car in Davenport from Vincent J Neu Pontiac Dealer on 3423 Brady St. in Davenport, owa. My father was told that it was a salesman's car at the dealership. According the PHS documentation the car was originally ordered and delivered to Fred Gordon Cadillac Pontiac of 3210 East Kimberly Road in Davenport, owa in July of 1981. It still has a tune-up service sticker on the air cleaner from Moeller Electric Auto stating on 4/17/86 the car had exactly 12,489 miles on it. Even in 1981... these cars were hard to come by. You had to be on a waiting list just to order one. This car is still in IOWA and has never left.
The car is definitely a True Trans Am Purist Dream Car. The car does have a few surface scratches, few nicks and a couple of minor dings. The car is not perfect but is in excellent shape for a 34 year old car. Paint is not perfect but scratches can probably be professionally buffed out. Car has never been professionally detailed. The A/C works and the blower still blows strong but not real cold. The A/C probably needs to be re-charged. There are also 2 pieces of trim in the back on the side of the rear seats that needs to be repainted. The garage door used to have windows...so the trim may have faded from the sun through the back window??? Or the trim may have had a chemical reaction to a cleaning product??? I included pics of the trim. The tape deck doesn't work, ut I do have the original 8-track that came with my car (LOL)
The only thing not original is the water pump and the tires. The water pump was changed many years ago. The tires are new with about only 500 miles on them. They are not the same as the original tires but they still handle just as well. At the time the BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires were on back order and I wanted to drive my car...so I bought what they had available.
The Bandit or Special Edition Trans Am is a highly collectible car that is only going up in value. There are a lot of Bandit Tribute cars or Bandit Clone cars out there. Most are just basic cars that are painted the bandit colors and have many reproduction parts. I've noticed that many of these cars don't have the correct badging and options. I think there is nothing wrong in buying a Bandit Tribute or a Bandit Clone...They are still beautiful cars. I personally like all years and colors of Trans Ams. Not everybody can afford anALL ORIGINAL UNRESTORED SURVIVOR CAR. Prices have been sky rocketing lately. A lot of times when you buy a restored or rebuild car, ou don't really know what you are buying. Often times you find out that some of these cars were not properly restored. Some restorations are nothing but painted puddy and poorly welded sheet metal. When you buy a truly unrestored car... you know exactly what you have. There are no surprises.
I'm NOT representing a dealership or a body shop that restores and flips cars for a living. I'm just someone who inherited his father's car and I have decided to sell it on Ebay. I am a first time Ebay Seller and I have tried to price thecar reasonable. I feel this car is priced to sell. There won't be too many opportunities in life like this. How many times will you run across a car like this... at such a fair price. If you love the Smokey and Bandit Trans Am 'aka' Special Edition...you better get it now while prices are still reasonable.
The Turbo Special Edition cars were only built in 1980 and 1981. There were fewer 1981s built. I believe the 1981 offered a few more options. Either way... both cars are becoming hard to come by. There have been a few 1980/1981 Special Editions sold at Barrett Jackson Auctions over the past couple of years. I do realize that most of these cars had almost UNBELIEVABLY low mileage. I'm just saying that these cars are skyrocketing in value! Burt Reynold's actual 1977 Trans Am sold for $450.000.

I've tried to list an accurate history and description of my car. The car is sold as is with no warranty. All sales are final with no refunds. This car is also being sold locally and on other websites...so this action may end at any time. This auction may end early. It's even possible you could use the Buy Now Feature and the car could already be sold.Buyer not responsible for payment if car is already sold. Seller is not responsible orliable if car is sold prior to Buyer buying the car. It is Buyer's responsible for using a Bonded and Insured Vehicle Shipping company. If Buyer is concerned.... you can always message Seller to see if car has been soldprior using Buy Now feature.
I'm not a car dealership, ar salesman, r a guy that restores and flips cars for a living. What you see in the pictures is what you get. Please inspect pictures thoroughly. You are buying an almost original 1981 car... except for the fore-mentioned items. As stated there are some minor imperfections with the car. Please don't win the auction and complain later about the small imperfections. You are buying a rare condition, 981 special edition with under 16,500 miles with original paint, atching numbers, nterior, tc. Please use the magnification feature to view the photos up close!
The winner bidder must pay a $500 non-refundable deposit within 24 hours of the end of the auction by using Paypal or other secure method of immediate payment. The remaining balance must be paid in US currency with secure funds either by bank wire transfer, ank check, r cash in hand with 7 days after the auction has ended. It is the Sellers choice as to what he will accept for full and final payment. Money must be official verified before transfer of possession of the car/ title etc. Please contact me directly before issuing checks or paying funds. If Buyer fails to pay for car in a timely manner....Seller can sell car to another person. Buyer please communication with Seller if you have any payment or otherissues as soon as possible.
Please have your money/ financing in order before bidding. A normal bank probably will not issue a car loan for the full amount for a Classic Car. With a normal bank you would probably have to have a sizeable down payment for the bank to issue a loan on a Classic Car. You may have to find a Bank or Finance company that specializes in Classic Car Loans.
The car can be picked up in person or shipped across the country or shipped around the world. The buyer is fully responsible for making shipping arrangements. I will try to assist Buyer as much as possible. Especially for those overseas Buyers who are unable to meet in person. Buyer is fully responsible for insurance coverage, egistration of vehicle, itle fees, ales tax, tate inspection, ny possible transfer fees, ll fees, tc. It is still a 34 year old car.... I would not recommend driving 1500 miles cross country.
Whether you buy my car or someone else's "Special Edition" car.... make sure the Vin number coding correlates with the car's correct engine etc... and make sure they have their PHS documentation to verify that your car is a true "Special Edition". There are a lot of fakes out there. With the vin number... the 5th digit indicates if car was a (w)trans am, s)base firebird, u) formula, t) Espirit. The eighth digit is engine code (t) 301 turbo, bbl carburetor, 8 Engine 1980-81. All original Special Editions should have a 301 v8 engine with Turbo and 4bbl carb.
Hopefully you will have your dream car. This car is a Beautiful Car that is a great investment that should only increase in value.
Even if you found a old Beater Trans Amand paid4-5k...you would probably spend an additional 20-30k or more just to restore it...and it's Beautiful...but NOT original. The price of a 20,000 dollar restoration is probably if you're able to restore it yourself.
"A Car can only be Original ....Once"
I apologize for any typos or grammatical errors with this written description...LOL
