Up for auction we have a 1979 Pontiac Firebird with the very rare Redbird package. This rare bird has all the factory optionsthat were available at the time, including T-Tops. We found the factory build sheet under the back seat of the car. It is fully legible and intact. It lists the W68 Redbird package and was built at the Van Nuys Plant and was sold at Kindler Pontiac in Sioux Falls, D. We also have the 1979 warranty book with the original owners name that matches the Colorado title for the car, he original owners manual and an advertisement from Pontiac. We ordered from The Pontiac Historic Society (PHS) the factory window sticker and research information on this car. All documentation will go with. This Redbird has matching numbers and is all original. Paint and interior are all original. It starts and runs great. Automatictransmissionshifts with no problems. It is a fun car to drive This car is a survivor car it has been in the same family since new. It only has 85K miles. It has been well taken care of. The original owner even special ordered it with a factory engine block heater! Probably only one with that on it! The original catalytic converter was removed when it was new and a JC Whitney test tube was installed, he original cat is still in the trunk and goes with the car. The car does not have any rust. It has been in Colorado summer car most of its life and not driven in the winter. The car has a brand new windshield, new tires (maybe 5 miles on them), new Pheonix Graphics gold pinstripe, n 2010 the air conditioning was converted to R134 and right rear tailpipe. Everything else appears to be original to the car.The only problems we have seen are a small crack in the dash pad(pic), xhaust leak drivers side manifold, nd due to the car being covered for many years some of the paint has rubbed thin (pics). There are a few chips and dings to be expected with a car of this age. The is clean and nice but the rear seat has some fading on the top of the seat. The headliner is starting to loose some of its glue but is still in good condition no tears. This is a very rare and well documented Bird. According to PHS only 3301 cars were produced with the 301 engine, utomatic, ith the T-tops. Email any questions or if you would like more pictures.
