Car description |
---|
Very nice original Bonneville convertible. Purchased new in Hempstead New York at Whipple Pontiac. I do have a copy of the original build sheet that shows this information along with all the options.
Has factory air that works, ower windows, ower antenna, teering and brakes. Everything works including the top which goes up and down with ease. Drives great and shifts smooth. I replaced the battery cables, adiator cap and upper radiator hose with the correct components. I also replaced the hood pad as it was falling apart. As I mentioned it runs and drives great and has never been molested.
The interior on a scale from 1-10 is what I would call a 9. The dash is great and all the chrome trim is perfect along with the steering wheel. The only missing part is the small piece of wood grain trim on one side of the wheel which you can see in the pictures. The leather seats are almost perfect except for some wear on the back cushion on the drivers side which can be seen in the pictures. It is amazing howgood the interior is in this car which speaks for the good care it has had in the past.
The paint is original and does show some wear and a few small dents on the passenger side and a small one on the deck lid. The car is almost rust free except for a pencil size hole in the trunk floor in the left side which can be seen in the picture and very easily repaired. The trunk mat should be removed and the floor sanded and painted. The rest of the car is solid with only surface rust showing on the underside of the frame, o holes.
The convertible top is in good shape but the binding along the edge on both sides is coming lose and could possibly be glued or hand stitched. I chose not to repair any of these items or do any touch up work to the car.
They are only original once and you can see what you are buying nothing to hid or make excuses for. I would encourage you to have the car inspected by yourself or a representative so there are no questions after purchase. I will be happy to send you more pictures as I can only list 24 in the auction. I will also be glad to answer any of your questions be email or phone which I prefer and can be reached at 570-460-8395 EST. Vehicle is located in Northeast Pa.
