WOW 50TH ANNIVERSARY!!!
PLEASE LOOK OVER 100 PHOTOS BELOW VIRGIN ORIGINAL DOCUMENTED VERY RARE!!!
This 1970 Plymouth Rally Red Road Runner convertible 383 Pistol grip 4 speed with N96 air grabber hood is a true classic original survivor. This car was purchased brand new in 1970 by the original owner that had this car for over 48 years it has only been registered once in its life time since brand new.
He was a 24 year old Vietnam veteran when he was offered the Chrysler loan program for Vietnam veterans to purchase a new vehicle. This car was ordered while he was in Vietnam brand new. He made payments to Chrysler loan department until he paid it off and kept every receipt as seen in photos below. He took delivery of this Plymouth Road Runner brand new upon leaving the military. He was very meticulous and kept all documents which included the original dealership bill of sale, the original window sticker, dealership sales contracts, the original sales packet, all the original Chrysler veterans loan documentation listening all options, owners manua, and much more original documentation that you will see in the photos below. When he picked the car up brand new at the dealership they gave him a cardboard temporary license plate and put it on the car when he picked it up brand new. Shortly afterwards he received his new metal Texas 1970 license plates. You will notice his registered 1970 Texas license plate still on the car now in the photos. You will also notice he kept and saved the original dealership dated 1970 cardboard license plate which is in with all the documentation.
The original owner kept this car inside garaged and covered and sparingly used it for over 48 years only on beautiful sunny days in very nice weather and always babied it, covered it and took care of it meticulously. You will see below the original owner in the old polaroid 1970 photos standing next to his prized 1970 Plymouth Road Runner convertible 4 speed Hurst pistol grip, with factory ordered N96 air grabber hood just after bringing it home in 1970.
This car still has all its shiny ORIGINAL PAINT from 1970 and has never been in an accident. The paint and body panels still shine and look like new. The original paint on this car will blow your mind with absolutely incredible outstanding original condition depth and high grade rally red color. The original 1970 convertible power black top with optional glass back window still looks incredible with no rips or tears, and still is nice and soft as testament to how well this car was taken care of. Also the original black and silver interior everywhere is in outstanding high-grade Survivor condition. All the rubber weatherstripping on this car is nice and soft and in excellentoriginal condition all the way around the car. The padded dash and all gauges work and still look like new. The air grabber hood works flawlessly. You will see the very old red line tires on this car in the photos and where the red lines are almost faded off showing nice old patina for the car shows. Also please view the undercarriage photos showing the thick factory day one under coat. Believe me when I say the original metal on the frame, floors, trunk pan, and rockers are still like brand new under the factory undercoat with original rally red factory red paint most everywhere underside, and one of the finest unmolested virgin rust free bodies you will ever find on a 1970 road runner convertible.
I have a notarized letter from the original owner of 48 years stating the original numbers matching dated 383 super commando 335 HP motor, transmission, and rear end have never been out of this car in all it’s life since new and guaranteed 100% numbers matching day one original drive train. This car has only been registered once ever by the original owner and I also have the original certificate of Title that was first registered in the original owners name. I now have a legal title in my name for the next owner. I personally have never registered this car since I have owned it and have kept it in heated storage with all my other classic cars at my home. This car drives incredible with no shakes or rattles, and was always driven and maintained up till my purchase. The motor runs like a Swisswatch and burns nice and clean and burns no oil with smooth shifting.
The chrome bumpers, windows, and all bright work are still in gorgeous original condition with no pitting ever and have never been off the car. Also the original trunk is absolutely beautiful along with its original trunk mat, and magnum 500 spare tire and jack. The old bias red line tires should be replaced with new red line radials however the old red line bias tires are still in good shape with no dry cracking and soft rubber. You will also notice the nice oak documentation display tripod for your car shows.
This car was ordered with very rare options for its day. As stated it was ordered with a super commando 383 /335 HP, big block, Hurst pistol grip 4 spee, N96 air grabber hood, power convertible top with glass back window, very rare power windows, AM/FM radio, tic tock clock tachometer with 150 mph rally dash, dealer installed road runner side dust trails that were installed at the dealership in 1970 and documentedwith original owner standing next to the car in 1970 and on the original paperwork from new.
Please see the notarized documented letter from the original owner of 48 years to me stating the original mileage was 48,816 when he sold the car April 27th 2018 and now resides in my private collection with 48,837. I have only driven this time capsule 21 miles since my ownership. This car is Texas rust free for all of its over 48 years as stated with all its original virgin metal panels from day one with no repair ever, and has never been in an accident as stated. I would absolutely have to say that this 1970 Plymouth Road Runner convertible survivor being registered only once in 48 years with the original owner and with the extensive documentation, original paint, and with these options has to be the only one in the world with this history that exist today. You Chrysler Plymouth Mopar experts can also verify this. They are only original once as they say.
The original owner detailed and maintained the engine compartment by painting around the battery box where acid typically spills on the paint. He also at this time years ago detailed and painted the air cleaner and put a new decal on and painted the valve covers only as routine maintenance. Photos show the original engine compartment is 99% all original paint and displays beautifully. These items in the engine compartment we're just part of regular maintenance because he loved this car. Any original part removed for maintenance and better drivingability was kept by the original owner and are in new boxesin the trunk.
This car runs and drives absolutely spectacular as aunmolestedoriginal low mileage classic should and most likely the way they left the factory in 1970. Truly without a doubt one of the finest original 48 year plus one registered owner 1970 Plymouthroad runner convertibles in the world. I have a three ring binder full of this cars meticulous 50 year history with receipts, photographs, and more documentation then you'll most likely ever find on any 1970 Road Runner survivor convertibles known to exist.
