| The entire interior was reupholstered using the factory patterns. Everything from the headliner to the door panels are new.
The engine and transmission are out of a 1980's dodge truck. The engine was cleaned, re-gasketed and painted. I replaced the oil pump, timing chain and gears. The distributor was replaced with a one wire unit. It runs perfectly. The transmission was not disassembled but shifts as it should. The electrical system was converted from a 6 volt to 12 volt by utilizing a 12 circuit Speedway motors wiring kit. All the exterior and interior lights work including all the dash lights. All original dashboard is fully restored.
| | | | The front drums were replaced with a more modern RustyHope disc brake set up using the stock spindles and all off-the-shelf parts. |
| The original rear end was replaced with a rear from a mid 90's Jeep Cherokee. This rear has all new bearings and brake hardware. The chassis and suspension were inspected, cleaned and painted. Every nut and bolt was removed and reinstalled. The front suspension is bone stock with all the original hardware. | | The rear leaf springs are original and are still clad in factory lead sheathing to help quiet them.
| This 1950 Plymouth Suburban is from my personal collection of cars that I have built for myself. I have 20 years of car building expertise and have amassed a large number of vehicles that I'm having difficulty finding space for. I need space for new projects, so I will be listing few of my cars. Stay tuned…. I hope you can appreciate attention to details and see the amount of work and time I put into this car. Please refrain yourself from making unreasonable offers. This car will be gone, perhaps even before the auction ends. It is available for sale locally and I reserve the right to close the auction if it sells. Don’t miss the opportunity! This car is a beautiful, absolutely unique piece of history. I welcome you to come and see for yourself. Inspect the car, drive it around… I’ll put it on a lift for you. But you should do so BEFORE placing a bid. Come, test drive and see how the car feels. Maybe heavy, vintage ride is not for you. There is nothing hidden. One thing you should know though: I left the original wheels and tires that came with the Plymouth on for the original look. These are the stock wheels with original Plymouth center caps. The tires are pretty old and should be replaced. I'm leaving that to the new owner since I'm aware that people have varied tastes in wheel and tire selection and there are many different configurations that would look awesome. If there are any questions please call Bryan at 919-616-4354. Thank you. | |
