Car description |
---|
I am selling my grandfathers early 1949 Plymouth Special Deluxe. Being an early 49, it is still considered a P15 as shown by the "motor number".
This car is 99% original down to the seat upholstery. Minor modifications/fixes include, auxiliary water temp gauge, auxiliary headlight switch, Pertronix flamethrower ignition coil and Pertronix electronic ignition (not yet installed). Everything else to my knowledge is 100% original from 1949.
The car starts up just fine. The Choke knob/cable seems to be caught on something under the hood which prevents it from being pulled out to cold start the engine. Once the engine warms up, its runs relatively smooth. I say relatively because it needs the new electronic ignition installed (included) as well as a new cap and rotor (also included). Once those go on, I don't see it having any problems at all. There is a tiny fuel leak at the filter right before the carb, very easy fix.
Also included are 5 brand new tires, a spare bumper, and the exterior sun visor. I never liked the look of the giant sun visors, so I left it off. Also included are brake shoes all around.
I was going to keep the car for myself, but I have another project to finish first, and this car deserves to be worked on, not sitting in a garage! A few fixes will get this car up and running for a great driver as is, or a perfect candidate for a full restoration.
