Car description |
---|
The engine bay is clean and all of the factory markings are in place. Every last factory tag and sticker seem to be still on every little component. Still has the original alternator with red anodized ID tag in place. Original everything including brake booster with factory Mopar sticker still on it.
The body is near flawless. I recall a small indentation somewhere, but it wasn't hit, as there was no scrape. I cannot find it now. It is very small. It may even be factory. There are only a few super tiny chips on an edge or two. Very very small. Absolutely ZERO rust. The paint is 100% original, no touch-ups, no repairs performed, as none were ever needed, nor are any needed now. The paint still shines. In the pics, I hadn't even washed the car after the Monterey trip yet! The car looks like it just came off the showroom floor last week. Every last piece of trim on the car is flawless. The bumpers are perfect. Not a single ding or scratch or scuff anywhere. The chrome is absolutely like new. Not even close to fading. Not even a rock blemish on the front bumper. All 4 hubcapa are like new. No dings or scratches and they all shine like new. Super rare option Plymouth bug and rock deflector, and it is mint. Clearly nothing has ever hit it. The grille and all bezels are mint. All of the side trim on the car is mint and 100% UN-dinged. The chrome on the taillight bezels is flawless. Inside the trunk is 99% like from the factory. The only thing not perfect is the original mat. It has a couple tears. The jack has never been removed from its holder. The jack instructions under the trunk lid is perfect. The latches have their cadmium plating still perfect and untarnished.
I cannot say enough about the interior. It is mint. The kick panels haven't even been kicked by a shoe at all. The upholstery, front and rear are 100% perfect. There is only the slightest sign that the driver's side bench seat has been sat in if you have a good eye. Zero damage, no dirt, no stains, no tears, nothing. The upholstery still has its original sheen and the interior smalls factory new! Interior panels are perfect. Ash tray has never been used. Even the glove box is mint. The dash gauge cluster is perfect. Chrome on the shift arm, blinker arm, window cranks and everything else is perfect, like it was just chromed yesterday. The carpets are 99% like new. The rear of the front seat has absolutely zero scuffs, as thought nobody has ever been in the back seat. Package tray is perfect like brand new. The headliner is flawless. The dash pad is, of course, original and it is 100% flawless. Every single thing on this car works like it should.
The vinyl top is flawless. Not a single sign that it didn't just come from the factory today. All of the rubber, no matter what it is, is flawless and supple and that includes all door and trunk weatherstrip, hood and door bumpers, and even the gas cap seal. It seals nice and tight.
This car has no squeaks, rattles or any other noises that it shouldn't have. I do believe there is a leaky right rear wheel cylinder, as it locked up under a slightly more than moderate brake test. It took a bit of pedal pressure, but in my opinion, locked up a little too early. It is absolutely no issue whatsoever, unless you hit the brakes hard. I am going to attempt to remedy that issue. Other than that, this car behaves as a brand new car would.
This car would be a great model to get accurate markings and placement of items for the restoration of a similar car, as this car is completely original and unchanged, save for those hoses and clamps.
