1953 Plymouth Belvedere two door hardtop, no post, next best thing to a convertible or maybe better. This car was fixed up restored in the early 80's. I bought it in 1985. I used it for about 6 years. I stopped driving it after a turkey or pheasant crossed my path and left the windshield nice and broken. This was before everything being available via internet. The engine is a P21 or whatever a 1951 engine is. It had a HS tech school rebuild.New pistons valves the works. Rebuild was ok, no5 cylinder was always a little low. Overdrive worked great, all pawls/selenoid etc.(I copied the original wiring harness, length, color, tape etc with modern wiring but it worked great, first second third engage od and click into od with the correct lighter oil in the od). It has always had summer attention. It does run and drive but the once rebuilt brakes need it again. Floors need work. The interior is ok, headliner is there but has had wasps and mice. Front springs are shot. Trunk floor is ok, wheel well descent. What you see is what you get. There are many reasons to purchase this.1. There are many total pieces of junk listed for way more money on a regular basis. If the windshield were replaced you could begin a reclaiming of this car to use again. These are super simple machines and easy to fix and parts are more plentiful and cheap than many newer cars. 2. This car is becoming quite popular with rodders and customizers, this car already needs help so there is not the destruction of a really good condition original. 3 The overdrive trans makes this a great modern driver once back in operation or hot rod and sell the current drive train to someone else and get a return. Perhaps you have the similar vintage Plymouth or Dodge and this trans would slip right into one of this and then modify this to maximum imagination. 4 I have a clear New Jersey title for this in my name which means to licensing difficulties. Bottom line too many cars. I have a 49 jeepster under resto if interested let me know. 51 dodge sportab and bus coupe ditto. 66 and 68 Spitfires ditto Geo M conv 2x plus a two door. Several 89 -93 chrysler lebaron all five speeds.1928 Graham Bros. 1.5 ton truck. etc.and ditto. Where I live in cny winter is unscrupulous use of salt time(ex 38 degrees, rain and double salters will be out there,) this overuse of that corrosive makes regular transportation a summer restoration project. Any way a 53 Plymouth that could once again be on the road, sold as is. Ask questions. Thank you.
