Car description |
---|
What we have here is a beautiful, solid, great driving 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Hardtop. Car was originally from Arizona for the first 34 years. Then it moved to Tennessee and now NY. The body is nice and solid and still retains its original steel. No rust from what I can see. Factory undercoating and the Arizona weather has preserved this car. The paint is finished in its original color of B5 blue metallic. Paint was done years ago but still shines and looks like new. (See photos) No chips or scratches. Body is ding/dent free and laser straight. With excellent shut lines and gaps. Glass is all good with only minimal wear on the original windshield. The engine is a circa correct (1971) 383 with all its original 383 switched over parts. It has an aftermarket fully functional electric "Air Grabber" hood that feeds an Edelbrock electric choke carburetor mounted on an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold. (Original manifold and carburetor come with the sale) Engine is basically stock as far as I know. It has Mopar electronic ignition and a really deep strong sound that exits through Flowmaster mufflers and chrome factory exhuast tips. I'm told the engine has about 25,000 miles since its rebuild. It starts and runs great with no issues. Just completed a 600+ mile trip to the Mopar Nationals in Pa. with no oil or water consumption. The transmission is a sharp shifting 727 connected to an 8 ¾ Sure-Grip rear differential with 3.23 gearing. Car has power steering with great big manual drum brakes. It rides on its original 14" Mopar "Road Wheels" and newer Cooper Cobra GT radial tires. (215-70R-14)
The interior is finished in its original color of B5 Blue. It's in really good condition with a perfect dash pad and headliner. Rear seat is the original with a newer recovered front seat to match. Carpeting was replaced years ago and shows some signs of sun discoloring in areas. The Instrument panel has all new gauges except the speedometer. Even a new working clock. Tachometer is a functioning aftermarket unit. All lights, gauges, wipers, radio and even the cigar lighter are all functional. In the trunk there's the mat, spare tire and all the original jack components.
Things to note that are new or are in like new condition. The chrome bumpers are mint, grill chrome surrounds are new, front grill is new, both front and rear parking and reverse light housings and lenses are new, door handles and both mirrors are new. Air grabber hood turn signal lamps are new. New brake lines and brakes, fuel tank and sending unit are new. Car really needs nothing. You can turn the key and start driving this car to any car show and be the hit of the show. Everyone loves the Road Runner with its good looks, "Beep, Beep" horn that menacing shark on the "Air Grabber" scoop.
I'm sure I missed somethings about the car. That's why I'm including my cell number so you can give me a call or send a text with any questions or concerns you may have. Contact me here in NY at: 631-796-7173. I'll be happy to assist. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
Best Regards, Dave
