Car description

1965 Plymouth Barracuda 318 Poly engine bored and stroked to 396 CI / 325 HP/325 FPT 4 speed Chrysler Transmission. The car has been totally rebuilt. Has new custom paint job. All new Interior with a Flaming Star adjustable steering column. Ford 9 inch rear end with 370 gears. New Mags, tires and disc brakes all around.

The assembly and machine work were done by "Performance Automotive Machine" out of Axtell, TX. They are a long time High Performance engine builder. The block was cleaned, sonic tested, surfaced and bored .060 over. Using a four inch stroker crank the cubic inches were increased to 396.

Roller Rocker assemblies were not available for the Poly Heads therefore the refurbished original valve train was used. The combustion chambers were relieved and new hardened valves with three way grind were installed with new bronze valve guides. Comp Cam double spring valves and new seats, seals, locks and keepers were used. New high performance Push rods had to be made. A Mopar dual quad intake and two 600 CFM Edelbrock carburetors with progressive linkage, high volume electric fuel pump and 3/8" fuel line from new fuel tank to the carbs. New high performance water pump with 180 degrees thermostat and new three chamber aluminum radiator.

The Engine is balanced and blue printed and Dyno tested to 325 HP with 325 ft lbs of torque at 5250 RPMs. The car runs on regular gas but will perform better with higher octane. I use Valvoline 10 w 40 racing oil and Champion RJ 12 YC spark plugs.
TRANSMISSIONPassion performance - Totally rebuilt Chrysler A- 833 heavy duty four speed with new bell crank, center force clutch, high performance pressure plate and throw out bearing. The original "Hurst" shifter was rebuilt by Hurst and used in car.
REAR ENDQuick Performance - Ford 9" Posi Trac with with 370 gears, new third member, custom housing and 31 spline axles. New air bag adjustable rear end height control. New four link traction control system. 10" Disc brakes and extended boxed frame rails.
FRONT ENDThe front end was completely rebuilt with new heavy duty parts, new torsion bolts, new oversized Anti sway bar, new steering box and 11" disc brake conversion. Front end alignment. The windows were fitted with new felts and gaskets, and the windshield and gasket were replaced. The rear window was retained. All new gaskets and rubber for the doors and trunk were installed. New floor pans and trunk pan were installed along with sound proofing front to back. New carpeting throughout.
New interior doors and quarter panels. New preformed foam was used on the bucket seats. New seat covers front and back and new head liner. New sun visors, arm rests and rear view mirror. New wiring harness, new Bosch Tach and gauges and electrical components throughout. A new Flaming Star adjustable steering column was installed.
The car was never intended to be a show car however it is an exceptional street machine that looks great, runs strong and drives very well. It has a clear Texas tittle and is licensed and inspected. Going with the car are the front and rear bumpers with mounting brackets, rim mounted 10" pie crust cheater slicks, shop manual, original steering wheel and other misc. parts.
