Car description

1968 Plymouth Roadrunner 383, AT. All original numbers matching with build sheet. I have owned the car for over 8 years and have just came to the point that I will not be able to have the time for another couple years and need to clear some student loans. I believe I am the third owner. I purchased it from the son of the original owner. Now, about the car:
Straight body, has typical rust issues on the driver quarter panel, trunk, and rear window trim. I have all of the metal parts to replace them. Looks to be starting some rust on the passenger side rear quarter panel as well. See the pictures. Car still has original hub caps, blue california license plates, original floor mats, and even original spare tire. I have many of the original car manuals as well as the build sheet. I have brand new in the box: exterior door handles, an interior window handle, the trunk mat, exterior roadrunner decals. The VIN tag to the engine bay is missing but the cab VIN is clearly visible, and the engine block matches as well. Interior currently has a cheap reupholstering job which has torn on the front bench seat, but have the original matching green seat covers ready to be put on. I also have the carpet kit. Motor and transmission run. Most likely all original and never rebuilt. No major leaks but looks to be a valve cover gasket leak on the passenger side. The fuel and temperature gauge have worked off and on throughout the years but has never overheated. The last big trip was a few years ago and drove it about 180 miles without any issues. The tires are old and cracked and would not trust it on a long trip at this point. I do have all of the trim pieces including the rear trunk chrome panel that is seen missing in the picture, I had removed them to begin bodywork. All of the glass is in great shape except for a crack in the front window. The only non original parts I place on it was MSD distributor and ignition, victor intake manifold, and high torque starter. I really hate to get rid of this car but I have to much going on right now to finish this original classic. I can get more pics upon request. I am a very busy guy so I will respond to emails and messages as soon as I can. It is also going to be listed locally so it will be removed if sold. Thanks!

Addendum: A good question was asked about the paint. The car looks to have had a repaint of the driver side front fender and door. The extent of the repair is unknown but it looks like they did a good job meaning no obvious bondo patches and the body work is straight. Other than that the pain is all original.

Hey guys, I just had a good conversation with one of the bidders to clarify the buildsheet:

Hi Jarod,
unfortunately a wrong broadcastsheet in the car happened often. The workers in the factory sometimes just made sure they have the right seat (bench) in the right colour due to just looking at the interieur code and not at the VIN. Both cars are very close and were possibly built the same day. So another green interieur RR has (had) your broadcastsheet.

Carsten

Hey Carsten, thanks. I'm at work and will double check the bins when I get home. The upholstery is not original so might be from another roadrunner as it looks like the vin on the build sheet is still from a roadrunner. I'll update the listing once I get home and figure it out.

Hi Jarod,
thanks for the picture.
Unfortunatly your Broadcastsheet isn't for your Road Runner but for a similar car with the VIN ending of 269699 (not sure about the last digit) but it definetly is not 434).
Best regards
Carsten

Yes, the fender tag is missing. The vin on the dash is listed: rm23h8g269434. Tough to make out the numbers in the picture I have, I can try to get a better one for you but should be able to look everything up with numbers provided. Let me know if you need anything else.

Hi,
do I get you right that the fender tag is missing?
What is the VIN of the car (on the dash RM23H8G269434 or RM23H8G269699 ?
Can you sent a picture of the VIN on the dashboard and of the bo stamped number?
Best regards
Carsten

After multiple questions I thought it best to let all of you know that the reserve is 9500. I just pulled the car out from the side of the house and fired it up and drove it around the block for those wondering if it runs and drives.
