Very rare opportunity, First time offered for sale to the public. One family owned until this year. Southern Car its whole life, Oklahoma City and DFW Texas. 1970 Plymouth Barracuda Convertible. Factory Options include: 383 CI Big Block Engine 727 Torque Flight Auto Transmission 8 3/4 Rear End Factory Air Conditioning AC Power Steering Power Brakes Power Convertible Top Rear Glass Window Power Windows Rim Blow Steering Wheel Fender Mounted Turn Signals Painted Dual Sport Rally Mirrors Bucket Seats Magnum Road Wheels 3 Speaker Dash (was 8-track now missing)
Pretty rare to find this many options on a Plymouth in those days. the Dad bought this car new and in the eighties gave it to his son who drove through high school and college at some point the velour was added to the bucket seats as well as the dash pad and door panels being recovered. The engine was professionally completely rebuilt and then it started to be used more as a weekend cruiser and after awhile as his family grew it sat in the garage. Not until this last year did the car move about 3 hours away to Texas and it has never been for sale before and almost no one knows about this car. Condition: Being from the south its hard to imagine finding a more solid car to start with. The body is super strait (body side moldings are just double stick taped on with no rivets or holes, I know this cause drivers door fell off)and the only rust areas are the rear quarters behind the wheels. the rest of the body ie fenders doors trunk lid hood floors are rust free. the top side of the trunk pan has some rust and the owner painted something on it and blew some foam down in the lower rear 1/4 area but when new fuel tank was installed the bottom of trunk pan looked great. The assembly marks are still on the original rear end and other places. Matching # Engine was recently tuned up and has low miles since rebuild years ago and runs great, even the choke works. Engine compartment is very clean and original and during tune up was detailed some. A new aluminum radiator was installed (comes with original also) as well as a new correct washer bottle and new heater shut off valve. Even the exhaust heat cover is still in place. Matching # transmission works well but currently does have a pan leak. Power Brakes and Power Steering work well and tires have very few miles on them. The wheels are the ones it left the factory with along with there caps and beauty rings. Original carpets were removed to show super nice floors but comes with new set. Rare rim blow steering wheel will need switch to work. Power top goes down but needs help coming up and factory glass rear window is no longer attached at bottom. Power windows work but are slow and need some assistance probably from just sitting all these years. originally equipped with AM 8-Track radio is gone but three speaker dash is still there. Fender signals still work as well as other lights including trunk, glove box and rear interior panels ! Car is 100% complete including all numbers vin tag, fender tag, door sticker and a build sheet was found under carpet but its from another car and its included. maybe you will find another one. there was a dent in front header and crack in grill so a new header was painted and installed as well as new grill and turn signal lenses. This is a car that can be a daily driver as is that's why it was tuned and radiator installed ect. but is still an old car that will need some TLC or it can be restored to be like new again fairly easy because its so solid and intact. Last of all its the ultimate start for a Hemi Cuda Convertible Clone. cars like this don't show up anymore so don't miss out.
