This is a very rare 1976 Plymouth Valiant Police Package that would be an amazing vehicle for restoration. The research that I have done over the years shows that there were only a very few of these with the 360 4 Barrel engine produced. Like maybe only 20 or so..... I have no way to verify but it certainly seems that it is extremely rare.
This car has been in my family since the mid 1980s so I know a complete history on it.
It was ordered brand new at Fred Hawkins Chrysler Plymouth in Cornelia Ga. The original owner was the jailer for the local Sheriff Department. He personally wanted a Police package vehicle so this one was special ordered for him. Apparently, the only way that he could get the vehicle that he wanted was that it was originally intended to be a Fire Department vehicle thus the Bright Red paint!
In the mid 1980s he had an accident in the vehicle and traded it in to my family's used car dealership. Thus the missing grill and the blue hood and fender. The car had approximately the same mileage as it does now 61k miles which is most certainly the original mileage. The car was very fast for the time period and it was just simply kept over the years. Much of the time was spent outdoors. However, about 15 years ago the car was moved inside to an open storage shed. About 10 years ago some local vandal teenagers decided to vandalize the car. All of the door glasses were broken out along with the windshield being broken. Thankfully, the curved back glass was unharmed. They did paint damage as you can see as well. The car was then moved to an indoor storage which is where it is located now. Unfortunately, we are loosing the storage facility shortly and need to sell the car as storage is unavailable or at least not convienient. So, here it is. I really have no idea of the value. But I do know that it is super rare. Perhaps, the most rare Police Package vehicle that has ever been produced. We need to sell it and get it moved so we are starting the auction for $99 and going to sell it for the high bid.
It will be sold with a Bill of Sale as the title has long since been lost and it has never been tagged since the mid 80s.
