Car description

1964 Plymouth Sport Fury

Fresh from storage, this is a very nice and fast early Mopar B-body. 64 Plymouths are considered the best looking of the mid-60s Mopars and this one is exceptionally nice.

Street/strip car that appears to have been built or upgraded in the 90s. High quality construction throughout, clean original rust-free body. Paint appears to be an older repaint over the original paint and is in great driver quality condition. Body is straight and paintshines nicely with goodluster. All chrome is excellent and trim is in excellent condition. glass is all in great shape with exception of windshield which is nice with no cracks, but some minor scratching on passenger side where wiper sweeps. Framerail connectors have been added as has an eight-point roll bar. All workmanship and welds are good quality. Weld draglite wheels look like new with Hoosier slicks on rear and Moroso front-runners. Lights, signals, etc. all work. Battery and fuel cell located in trunk.

1968 440HP Engine with "915" heads, Hughes hydraulic, cam and lifters, Crane gold roller rockers, Edelbrock Torker 440 intake, Holley 750 double pumper.Single wire alternator, MSD ignition, aluminum water pump and housing.Coated headers with three inch collectors and 3 inch Flowmaster exhaust dumps at rear axle. Engine runs strong with no noise, smoke, or leaks. Oil pressure is good and engine does not run hot. Transmission is 727 Torqueflite automatic with forward shift pattern and external cooler in front. Converter is obviously aftermarket and 8 3/4 rear has 4.88 (I was told) gears, Moser axles. I was told car ran mid-11 second elapsed times and that seems reasonable.

Car runs, drives, stops, good. Launches hard, shifts hard, and pulls strong. Brakes are original drums on all four corners. I was told that the car was a street/strip car that was cruised and run occasionally at the track by the original owner and was from Virginia. Owner retired to Florida and sold car to the gentleman I purchased it from and he kept it in climate controlled storage for several years prior to my purchasing it. I intended to turn it into a nostalgia super stock race car but already have a 64 Dodge and no time to take on another project. Car does meet all NHRA requirements for safety to run as quick as 10 seconds or slower with exception of the factory lap belts.

Please ask any questions through ebay, I have been building, buying, and selling Mopars for many years and this one is as clean and rust-free as I've seen. No evidence of any rust repair or filler, body, floors, and framerails are very clean. Would be an easy build back to a street car or already a great start to a NSS race car or just a fun car as-is.

Car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time. I will not ship vehicle but will make every effort to assist your shipper any way I can. Car is in Lakeland, Florida a short drive from the Tampa and Orlando airports. I encourage you to come see the car in person.

Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
