This is a real deal 1968 Plymouth GTX with a 69 front end and it has it's original clear Texas title last issued in 1979 from one of the original builders. This car was built into drag car in 1974 in Plainview Texas. It was painted red, white and blue in 1976 and was named Independence after 1776 American Independence (About as "Merica" as you can get). The car is an original GTX 440 L code 4spd with Dana rear axle (RS23L8A330110). It now has a built 1970 440 HP block, MSD ignition, Edelbrock intake, Proform 850 carb, 727 auto trans with hurst shifter and dana rear axle. Not sure what all has been done to the motor, transmission and axle. I have not had the car on the track since I've owned it, but one of the previous owners told me it was de-tuned to run in the 9.50s in the thousand foot class (hasn't been raced in over ten years). It still has the original 4 speed clutch pedal set up under the dash. The rear suspension has QA1 coil over shocks with ladder bar setup. The body is pretty much rust free, there are a few small spots in the floor pan. The car is not street legal. It has a fuel cell and doesn't have any of the original wiring harness. It currently runs and drives and gets started monthly. I bought the car a few years back and had plans to race the car but I have no time for it. This is a good solid B body with a great history that needs a good home. Car is in Gainesville TX.Call or text Chris @ 214-440-6276 if you have any questions
