1940 PLYMOUTH DELUXE CONVERTIBLE COUPE
Presenting a remarkably well preserved 1940 Plymouth P10 convertible, same California owner last 43 years and now ready for a new home.
its original 201 cubic inch straight six engine and 3 speed column shift, along with rare and fully operational vacuum power canvas top, this classic piece of automotive history elicits thumbs up and compliments everywhere it goes.
I purchased this car in 1975 and have lovingly restored it to be a reliable, comfortable and elegant touring car, driving it approximately 2000 miles per year. In 1992 I had the car completely stripped to bare metal, addressed previous minor bondo repairs with lead and refinished the car in its original Charlotte Ivory color. All new leather seats in Red along with fresh insulation under new beige carpeting, and a new top just installed within last 12 months.
Excellent panel fit, no rust, all chrome, glass, and trim are in great condition. Beautiful dash with all original fittings, gauges, switchgear and accessories including its original working push button radio.
Work that still needs to be done at present are:
> minor oil leak when sitting
> gas gauge works but only goes to ½ full
> heater has not been hooked up since I purchased car 43 years ago.
Lots of high resolution photos below, please allow time to load them all.
Our family has had decades of memorable drives with this car and it has been such a pleasure to own, but sadly the time has come for me to pass this historic treasure on to the next lucky owner.
