Car description |
---|
Super rare survivor commercial vehicle. Originally registered to the Calif. CDF to the Fire Cheif, hence the amazing condition having rarely put into severe service. He apparently drove it to and from the office every day. So, it was the only CDF car ever registered to the city...no forest in the cities, right?
This was retired in the early eighties from service, hence the early eighties seven digit blue plates. This car is equipped with the Fury 360 engine, not available in a B-body Plymouth that year. Also has the pursuit package (2.73 axle) and special paint code. Look closely ant the fender tag and the 999 special order package. You Mopar guys can decipher the codes if you want to.
The nice thing about this car is the A/C. The fact that very few commercial vehicles back then got A/C, including police cars, it was a special order on this car for the fire chief.
The car runs and drives great and I have taken it on many long excursions. A/C blowing cold, driving through the summer heat, it never missed a beat. Great, fun attention getter.
This car is NOT a replica, not a phoney flip car. It is the genuine article and I have owned it many years.I have the original CDF key fob I will include with the car. ( At the time I used this data to call the Calif. forestry and that is how I got the info on the car. I would guess it is still in their system). I also have the CDF helmet, and the car has radio equipment with it. I never attempted to hook that up, so I have no idea if it works.
I have not been able to find any rust or body damage on this car. Look closely at the pics to see undercarriage. ( Note the HD spring suspension)
I have loved this car, but I am ready to move on. It is waiting for the next proud owner...
