1970 Plymouth Cuda Convertible, 440 Shakerhood Equipped, in Limelight
This 1970 Plymouth Barracuda benefited from a complete nut and bolt rotisserie restoration, shown here in Limelight over White interior, White Convertible Top, and finished in "440" callout Hockey Stick Stripes. We don't know the original color combo, and in this case, it doesn't matter. Even though this original small block car was for driving fun, rather than a garage queen investment piece, the attention to OE detail is simply tremendous. The undercarriage is properly finished in grey epoxy primer, accented by body color overspray and black sound insulation applied to the wheel wheels, just as they did from the factory.
The interior is 100% stock appearing, soft trim and bright work are crisp, seat foam is firm and new. All gauges and switch gear has been restored, appears new, and works- even the OE AM/FM Thumb dial radio. All the glass is clear, seals soft and tight, and the power top goes up and down without any drama.
The fresh, professionally built 440 big block graces a factory stock appearing engine bay. It starts easy and quickly settles down in a sweet, relaxed idle. Punch the accelerator and the 727 sends torque to the 3.55 gears with power and authority. Nothing beats putting your foot into a well-built Chrysler big block. The OEM shaker hood rocks and rolls as the Torque flight clicks through the gears.
Going fast means little if you aren't looking good while you do it. The paint and body on this car is national show quality. The panels are straight and smooth with even gaps and great alignment panel to panel. The hood and trunk seat level and even at all four corners, doors fit flush and latch with simple nudge of the finger. The bumper chrome, grill, tail light panels, and lights are no exception- all of it appears "as new", operates as intended and looks beautiful.
Simply put, if you are looking a super clean, show quality E-Body convertible that you can drive and enjoy, worry free, this is the one.
