I have an original "R" code hemi cuda with only 5880 original miles. I bought this car 15 years ago as my dream car. with all intentions of restoring it. Now. I think I would rather have a SUPERBIRD OR DAYTONA CHARGER. This car was an export car sold new in Washington DC. The original owner was a diplomat from Pakistan. In 1973. the legendary DC drag racer- Earnest Montgomery - bought the car. He aleady had a green hemi cuda. so in 1975. he painted this original plum crazy purple car - white. blue. and gold as you see it today. He drag raced it around the local strips until the late 80's. At that time. he sold it to a guy in Ohio. who then sold it to a guy in Indiana. Altson Chassis Works took the car and installed the cage and super stock suspension. The orignal Dana rear remains uncut today. The motor is an unstamped 1970 426 hemi dated correctly for the car. It was rebuilt prior to buying it 12 years ago . It has never been never started. and I would suggest taking it back apart before running it. The car has very minimal rust. I have all new sheetmetal to take the car back to original. if you like ( AMD full qtrs. . trunk floor. mint original frame rails and inner/outer wheels wells. etc. ) The orig rear torque boxes are still in place. I have some additional new parts to go with it - dash pad. exhaust manifolds. gas tank. some fuel lines. brake lines. etc. I also have everything like the wipers. heater box. regulators. etc. All the wiring is still in the car. The door panels. steering wheel. grill etc are all mint condition. I have a set of carbs. but they are not the original. I do not have the shaker. but they are available. I also have the Fenton slots with Stahl tires off the front to go with it. Historic drag cars are quite popular now and are as valuable as restored originals. I do not have the build sheet. or. for particle purposes. nbsp; the fender tag. I have never paid Galen to come look at it either. It has the original vin tag and the original door sticker. All body stampings match the vin. I have no doubt that is what it is. The car was not highly optioned. born an automatic. it has a 4 speed in it now. manual steering manual brakes. am radio. road lamps. shaker hood. It does not currently run. so you can not drive it home. The motor and trans are just sitting in it. It is not 100% complete. so there will still be some thing s to buy. You can reach me at 540-336-3357 with any questions. There are only a handful of hemi cuda projects left unrestored. This is a chance of a lifetime for someone.
