Car description

Two owner....1967 Plymouth Belvedere 4 door....Georgia State Police Patrol car "recreation". I started with a very solid ...no rust car that had been re-painted once as far as I could tell. I purchased the car from the family that purchase it new in Florida. It was originally turquoise and was repainted B5 blue or close to that color. The car now wears a custom color that is a blend between B5 and turquoise and has a patina finish to make it appear weathered. The graphics are also a shade lighter than the original color to simulate fading.....it really looks like a de-commissioned patrol car. It has a period correct Federal Signal gumball and siren that is vintage and unmarked. The lights and siren are controlled by a new controller. I was told by a Georgia state patrol historian that 1967 was the first year to use this color scheme or at least something close to it. He also told me that 1967 was a transition year to using Plymouth and Dodge in the Georgia fleet. The graphics are my best guess as to what may have been possible....easily changed or removed if desired.
The exterior sheet metal is very nice and straight. The front bumper and grille, headlight bezels are very nice. The rear bumper is slightly pushed-in in the middle...taillights and finish panel are nice. The glass is all decent...one stone bruise in the windshield. The rest of the trim is average or above average....a couple of minor dings. The seals and fuzzies are average and could be changed....would be a good idea. The doors do close nicely...no problems with hinges or alignment.
The car has 92,000 miles on the original 273, 2 barrel motor. It was definitely well maintained. It runs, drives and brakes fine....just like a 50 year old vehicle would. The underside of the car is great just like the topside. I replaced the gas tank with a new Quanta tank and sending unit because of a small pinhole. It has a new fuel pump, newer tires, recored radiator, newer brakes etc. It does have A/C but the belt was off when I bought it and I never had it re-charged...my guess is that it will need minimal service to get operational. The engine compartment is very original and in great condition....original paint and not messed with. It could use a new washer pump.
The interior is above average. The seats have been protected by plastic but do have some splitting...not too bad. The dash cluster and pad are decent.....original cluster....NOT certified. The radio doesn't work well and it could use a fan switch....won't shut off. The headliner and carpet are original and in driver quality condition....carpet is pretty weak. The door panels are OK...could use an armrest or two.
The trunk is great...decent spare and new trunk mat.
It comes with the original owner's manual and oil change / maintenance records....and original hubcaps....I thought it looked better as a patrol car without the full cover caps.
Bottom line.....the car is very solid and is a fun driver as is but is not perfect....great driver project.
This would be a great parade car or occasional cruiser.....it gets a lot of attention on the road!
