Awesome 1965 - done nicely. A perfect combination of nostalgia and speed. Same owner for 30 years, really don't want to sell this car but gotta make some room as I have acquired a bunch of cars recently so be sure to check my other listings too. This car is currently in a race car configuration, last run 4 months ago in the 1/8th, has 14:1 compression and a high stall converter. I was going to drop it down to 10:1 and go with a moderate stall and hook the electrical back up and have a serious prostreet machine, but will leave that decision to the prospective buyer.
No rust, the motor is a monster. 440. 14:1 compression. Open headers. TCI transmission. Line locks. Trans brake. But honestly will go just as fast sitting at idle and punching it. This car is ridiculous fast. The NOS bottle looks cute in the trunk, but it's been empty a long time and would need some work to start using it again.
This is about as close as you can get to a get in and go race car that will turn mid to high 6's in the 1/8 and in the 10's in the quarter without the bottle --- or super easy change to prostreet.
The only issues I know of are as follows: converter lost a couple teeth so it skips now and then when starting. Car always turns over and starts, but I would plan to fix that and it's easy I can recommend a couple shops to fix the converter (about $200). The rear tires are showing some age. The fronts are new. I bought 2 cheap Walmart deep cycle batteries with the wrong terminal locations, so I would plan to modify the mounting bar or buy new batteries before heading to the track.
Serious bidders only please, cars like this are rare and special. I have perfect feedback and expect to keep it that way. Car is for sale locally and seller reserves the right to end the auction early. Thanks for looking!!
