Car description

1965 Plymouth Barracudathe original Body Style Fastbackwith the BIG BACK GLASSThis car was purchased from a retired gentleman living about 30 miles south of Ft Smith. AR. That being said because we don't have harsh winters and do not use road salts in this area. Local cars are not RUST buckets like some northern or coastal areas. I will try my best to describe all I have done to it in the last several years since acquiring it. The car had minor rust through on each rear quarter. down low right behind the wheel well openings. NEW CORRECT Patch Panels were installed. These were bought through a restoration products company. The only floor pan issue was an area in front of the driver side rear seat. a 12"x12" panel was installed. The rest of the trunk pan and floors were solid. The frame is very nice. The Detailer I use. blacked out the frame and then sealed and undercoated the floor and trunk pans. The car had a few minor dings and scratches but over all the body was nice and straight. The paint was faded from age. It is an original RED car!!I had a professional Body Shop in Fort Smith. take the car down to metal and refinish the entire body. The molding. bumpers. and emblems and windshield were removed to eliminate tape lines. It was a $4000 job. so it was not a cheap job. It is not a concours restoration but very showy and great for weekend fun. especiallyfor the price range I am expecting. You can't find a good one anddo all that has been done for any where near what you can buy this one for!! The bumpers are the originals. They do have a few minor imperfections. they have not been rechromed. they were strippedand then were powder coated in chrome finish. Again not concours but very presentable and they won't PEEL!!The Interior is original except for the bucket seat covers. I purchased correct reproduction covers and installed them. The headliner has been replaced. The rest of the interior is original. The carpets were redyed but not replaced. The brakes. fuel pump(upgraded to electric). battery. tune up parts. fluids. filters. hoses. belts. etc. have all been replacedand have maybe 15 miles on them. the Carb was rebuilt too. The tires are brand new Radials. And are the correct original size. The wheels and hubcaps are the originals. The paint was wet sanded. buffed and polished by a Professional detailer. I took the engine compartment apart without removing the motor and patiently cleaned. repainted. and detailed as you can see. The hood was removed and the underside was pressure cleaned. anded and prepped then finished out in semi flat finish for anice clean showy look for car shows. The glass is all good. the windshield does have a Novus repair. and a very small gravel chip. and some wiper scratches. The windshield looks perfect in the pictures but in direct daylight you can see what I am mentioning. While the car was apart forpainting the windshield rubber gasket was replaced as were the gaskets around the doors. The gas lines. fuel tank. etc were all cleaned out and are in good shape. The A/C is the under dash unit that was installed back in 1965. it will need to be serviced if one desires to use it. There is no belt on the compressor. The older gentleman told me it worked but he never used it and took it off to save on fuel. I think that is a generation thing?? The compressor turns but from there I won't make any promises. For my purposes the a/c was not a necessity at all. The lights all work as do the gauges and interior lights. The chrome moldings around each headlight have minor gravel dings. The right rear tail light surround has a crack in the chrome on the outside edge. The CAR drives very nicely. it feels good and tight and does not road walk. The suspension feels normal with no excessive bouncing and no squeaking. the previous owner had already done some front end and shock work on the car. The mileage reads 12. 75 it is 112. 75The car has its original drivetrain. The motor was rebuilt some time ago according to the previous owner. It runs smoothly. no noises. and no smoking. The Tranny does shift out as it should. When I bought the car I drove it home before any of the above work was performed. It was a nice little car project I thought would be fun to tinker with. My tinkering is over. So someone can get a Great Little Fun Car and have some fun at weekend Sonic shows or a sunny day cruiser. THE CAR DOES HAVE A CLEAN CLEAR ARKANSAS TITLEI have decided to liquidate and elimate a storage facility so it will need to be moved ASAP after the sale. Thank you for considering.
