Car description

Of the 701 GTX Convertibles sold in 1969 only 11 were equipped with 426 Hemis and of those 11 only 5 also had a 4-speed manual transmission. The 1969 Plymouth GTX Convertible offered for sale here is just 1 of 2 surviving examples with a period-correct 426 Hemi and 4-speed manual tranny. This particular car received a ground-up restoration 15 years ago and has been well-cared-for by a private collector ever since. It is rust-free and has been stored in a humidity- and temperature-controlled fa...cility since its restoration. It comes equipped with: -power steering power disc brakes and a power top -AM 8track radio -standard GTX bucket seats -standard Hemi air-grabber hood for better air flow in the engine bay -9 3/4 Dana rear axle -3speed wipers -many more NOS (New Old Stock) parts used in the restoration Finished in its original color combination of Jamaica Blue Metallic and a Blue and White interior it is a truly unique automobile and a buying opportunity that won't come up again soon! First offered for sale as the Belvedere GTX in 1967 the GTX was Plymouth's top of the line offering and commonly referred to as a "gentleman's" muscle car. It was offered with several different powertrain options and a convertible and coupe body style. Just one year later Plymouth gave the GTX a complete makeover and simultaneously released the Road Runner a lighter and less-expensive B-bodied Plymouth muscle car. By 1969 the GTX Convertible sales were drastically reduced due to the very popular new release of the Road Runner Convertible. In fact 1969 wound up being the last year the GTX was offered in a convertible body style with just 701 sold in the year. Great lease rates and Financing also available on any of our inventory!
