Stk 2202 1947 Plymouth Special Deluxe The Chrysler Corporation introduced its postwar models in late 1945 and built them largely unchanged until 1949. These cars were enormously successful at the time with over 2.2 million built. Our 1947 Plymouth Special Deluxe coupe has received a partial restoration. Starting with solid body a new finish of Burgundy was applied and is accented with a generous allotment of chrome rear fender skirts chrome-reverse wheels and 'baby moon' hubcaps. The interior was nicely restored using grey cloth material with a custom diamond stitch. A classic '40s dashboard with its full compliment of gauges looks much like it did in 1947 but the new carpeting is a definite upgrade to the factory rubber mats. This coupe is powered by Chrysler's 217ci flathead rated at 95bhp. These six cylinder engines were well known for their durability and low-end torque. It is believed that the motor has never required a rebuild but it runs nicely and is backed by a 3-speed manual transmission with column shift. Everything under the hood looks very original and the factory 6-volt electrical system has been converted to a 12-volt setup. Four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes provide stopping power. This is solid Plymouth coupe is ready for your next summer/fall cruise-in. Call 800-650-1055 or visit us at for additional information. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
