Car description

2009: The car was totally restored to the concourse level - a #1 museum quality car. It would go on to be awarded Concourse Gold at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in Chicago later that year. This fine example of a "69 Plymouth GTX is a true numbers matching (original) drivetrain. as is shown in the pictures. The car comes with the original build sheet. which has been de-coded by MOPAR guru Galen Govier. It came from the factory with manual steering. manual brakes. 4speed. and Track Pak - she was built for speed! 2010: I bought the car on October 23. 2010. The paint was standing up nicely. and the engine compartment. trunk. and underside looked just as good. All of the chrome had been redone. and the stainless trim was polished to perfection. The motor had been totally rebuilt in 2009. and had approximately 750 miles on it. The interior was a different story. It was done nicely. but in my opinion was the weak spot on the car. That's because some of the interior pieces. such as the center console were not available at the time of restoration. 2011: Ken Mosier. and his crew at The Finer Details stripped the interior. and restored it to like new condition. It was treated to new foam and seat covers from Legendary Interiors. dash and arm rests re-covered by Just Dashes. new carpet. headliner. door cards. nbsp;window cranks. package tray. and a new center console. A new windshield and back window were also installed. And while it was there. I had Ken's paint and body experts re-gap the the hood. fenders. trunk lid and doors to perfection. 2013: Due to a bad cam bearing I was forced to take the motor apart. I had the muscle car motor heads at AutoMotion (Bloomington. Il) rebuild the motor. Everything is new. nbsp;with the exception of the crank. which had never been turned. The motor is all stock except: the addition of a stronger cam - Comp Cams (Part# 21-227-4). and electronic ignition. and stainless steel valves. The motor currently has about 500 miles on it. I also added a Center Force II dual friction clutch. an Auto Meter tach. an Auto Meter oil pressure gauge. and new radial tires. 2014: Recently. I spent $1. 00. 00 on the exterior getting it ready for a show. My finishing guy spent 4 days on the paint. chrome. and stainless. including a full clay bar. three different polishing levels. glaze. and wax. The finish looks like a sheet of glass. Folks. this is one of the very best '69 GTX's you will find. A museum quality piece - a #1 car in all areas. Always transported to shows in an enclosed trailer - this is a trailer queen. and proud of it. Scorch Red is a very striking color. and the rare Pewter interior always gets noticed. It is ready to show. and would make a great addition to anyone's Muscle Car collection. I Also have a lot of receipts. including the most important ones - the motor rebuild. transmission. and rear end. Not a "must sell" situation. so only reasonable offers please.
