Car description |

1957 Plymouth Savoy
This is a very well equipped car. It has the following options:
This car was originally sold by Harold Dalgleish Plymouth in Lower Lake, CA. The car was bought new by Sarah Kennedy on 8-28-57. I purchased the car from her Granddaughter. The original owners manual and paperwork including the original 1957 State of California sale and application for registration is included with the car.
This car is rust free. No rot. Perfect floors and trunk pan. The typical rust issues normally found on these cars is not present. This is one of the best examples of a Forward Look MoPar I have come across!
The paint is presentable and still shines. There are some scratches, nicks and dings in the car in various places. But the car still looks good. Only needing some touch ups here in there and a good polishing for a driver. The chrome and stainless on this car is outstanding. It shines almost like new. Only minor imperfections.
This car is equipped with a 301 cubic inch V8 engine coupled to a pushbutton Powerflite 2 speed automatic transmission. I did some work to get this long dormant car back into driving shape. The engine runs great. No smoke or noises. It'll fire right up with no hesitation. The transmission goes into drive and reverse and I've driven the car around the neighborhood. The brakes are also operational and stop the car well.It goes without saying that one should probably go through the Drivetrain and brakes before driving this car on the road!
The cooling system seems to be in good shape as the car does not overheat. The charging system also functions as it should. The car does have a new battery. Currently the car is running off a auxiliary gas can under the hood as I have not drained the gas tank. But you can move this car around and drive it as is for loading and unloading purposes.
Steering the car is effortless with the power steering and the power brakes work well. The bellows style booster is in good shape with no tears or cracks. Tires are probably 10 years old with no miles on them. Horn works. All the lights work (Headlights, brakes, turn signals, etc.) with the exception of the dash lights.
The interior is in need of some attention. The front seat has a cover over it. The rear seat is still the original factory covers. The "starry night" headliner is still intact but has come loose in the back near the rear glass. The padded dash and visors are in good shape and present themselves well. On the floor is the original rubber mats. They are intact but have some cracks.
All in all this is a very decent car that one could easily have on the road with little work. It would make a very nice driver only needing some mechanical work.
I have a clear title.
Car is sold as is with no warrantiesexpressed or implied.
