Car description |

Outstanding 1502 Super Eight Convertible Sedan finished in Packard Blue with Gray Leather interior! Very solid, numbers matching example with an older restoration that continues to impress today! Just 18,000 miles driven since completion, proving to be an outstanding road car. Very complete and original!
Things literally couldn't have been better for Packard as they rolled into 1937. With nearly 50 models to choose from on over four chassis designs, they were able to capitalize on every facet of the market audience. New features included standard hydraulic brakes and new Safe-T-Flex independent front suspension for smoother road feedback, with the elimination of the outdated Bijur lubrication system as well as the adjustable ride control system. From entry level options to the expensive luxury models they were well known for, they could truly cater to the needs of all buyers. It was for this fact, they sold more units at the end of the 1937 than they would ever match again! Although, the majority of those units sold, some 90% to be more exact, were the entry level 115 or 120 Series models, the balance of Senior models like the Super Eight and V12 continued to be built in limited supply and continue to be the most sought after today!
We are very excited to offer this beautifully cared for 1937 Packard Super Eight Series 1502 5-passenger Convertible Sedan featuring the desired 139" chassis! Finished with a beautiful Packard Blue exterior with a Gray leather interior and Tan cloth convertible soft top. This restored Super Eight continues to retain an appearance of a gently enjoyed vehicle since its completion over 20 years ago. its original 320ci L-Head straight 8 engine mated to a 3-speed manual shift transmission, this Packard continues to run with perfect ease! Additional features include steel covered side-mounted spare tires with Packard See-Rite rearview mirrors, roll up 3-piece glass partition divider window, Trippe Speed Lights, trumpet horns, rear luggage rack, Firestone Deluxe Champion wide whitewall tires, goddess of speed hood ornament, heat/defrost, full dash instrumentation, rear floor foot rest, and locking storage compartment!
This Packard has been cared for very well by all former owners, who proudly used this vehicle on fair weather days for special events or classic car gatherings. It was never left to sit for lengthy periods of time without proper regular service intervals. The car was last restored approximately 20 years ago, with the paint showing only the slightest of patina. The very same can be said for the interior as both remain quite beautiful in our opinion! It now shows 18,308 miles on the odometer which can only be assumed to be the amount acquired since the completion of the restoration. As a Classic Car Club of America Full Classic, it is proudly eligible for annual CCCA events and CARavan tours. Not to mention AACA and VMCCA club events as well. For this reason, front seatbelts are currently installed, as well as turn signals for added safety. It will be accompanied with a 1937 Packard owner's manual and nicely organized wooden storage box housing original tools and tire changing equipment. We encourage any perspective buyers to call with questions or schedule an opportunity to see this wonderful collection piece firsthand. International collectors welcome. Thanks for looking!
