Car description

Very solid 1934 Packard Eight 1101. This wonderful frame up restored example was sourced from an Akron, OH collection in nearly 100riginal condition in 2014.restored with outstanding results! Retaining all factory equipment, all fully rebuilt. Sporting a 136" wheelbase, rear mounted spare, wire spoke wheels, red leather interior, and more! An impressive Packard addition for any collector looking for a rare rumble seat, 3-window Coupe! Packard Eight 1101 Background: Continuing with Packards model year number designations, 1934 became the 11th-Series.... As with all previous years, refinements and improvements were made. These included a heavy duty generator better equipped to supply power to more interior accessories that included an optional AM radio, slotted bumpers for a double-bar appearance, the addition of an engine oil temperature regulator, ride control system for Quiet Comfort & Performance as listed in brochures, and a gas filler built into the left, rear taillight assembly. The new 1101 Series offered 10 body styles on a sporty 136 chassis, but none more rare that the 2/4 Passenger Rumble Seat Coupe! One of the hardest styles to find on the open market, this presents a very unique opportunity for any Packard collector! Packard Eight 1101 Info: Offered here is a 1934 Packard Eight 1101 2/4 Rumble Seat Coupe. This wonderful frame up restored Packard Eight 1101 was sourced from an Akron, OH collection in nearly 100riginal condition in 2014. Although that original appearance was deceiving because the factory issued 320ci Straight 8 L-head engine (#376357) was already freshly overhauled to produce the factory rated 120 horsepower, the transmission rebuilt with new clutch, new exhaust system installed, along with all new brake system, tires, and complete exhaust! It was ready to tour, but this left us with the difficult task of completing a total cosmetic restoration. Additional features and options include rear-mounted spare tire with steel cover, repainted wire spoke wheels wrapped in Firestone 7.00-17 Gum-dipped High Speed black sidewall tires, factory special-ordered Twelve Series headlamps & fender lamps, Goddess of Speed radiator mascot, cowl vent, kick panel fresh air vents, tilt-out windshield, roll-down rear window, wheels trim rings, original dash instrumentation, and dual chrome horns. Upon arrival to St. Louis, we elected to facilitate a proper reconditioning of the bodys exterior paint, replacing the entire interior for new, and tackling the copious amounts of chrome to be re-plated professionally. We also had the complete main wiring harness replaced for good measure from Rhodes Island Wiring. This entire effort began with the body being completely disassembled, stripped bare of all components, trim, and body hardware. After minimal body work to repair small dents and freshen panel fitment, it was professionally repainted in Gloss Black by Donovan Auto Body. All reassembly was conducted by a local Packard expert and historian using all new hardware and body welting. While the body was being prepped and painted, all large chrome pieces were sent to Custom Plating Specialists based in Brillion, WI for preparation and triple plating. The smaller chrome pieces were done here locally by St. Louis Plating Co. in similar fashion to save time. We also had the entire rear end rebuilt with fresh Timken bearings. Once assembly began, all rubber components, including running boards, and weather stripping are brand new, all the glass was replaced, and the interior was expertly crafted by our very own Danny Silvinsky using Hirsch-sourced Grand Red leather hides and matching Bright Red Wilton carpets! The dash panel and door garnish moldings were professionally refinished with correct, faux wood graining with stunning results! And finally, the body was hand-pinstriped in Vermillion Red to match the wheels by Fitzinger Graphics. This seems to amount to a rather short list of items on paper for an amazingly long list of projects completed! And we couldnt be more pleased with the results! It should make for a delightful example to enjoy, show, drive, and tour with while remaining a wonderful, hard to find investment. Please feel free to call with questions or schedule a chance to review it in person!
