Offered for sale is a Classic 1947 Packard Super Custom 8 Club Sedan. 2 door, 127 inch wheel base.
Serial #2125 Body #2436.
This car was parked next to a southern Calif desert house for many years before I bought it and trailered it to Idaho.
The engine has been completely rebuilt at a cost of almost $5000 - no short cuts taken in professional rebuild. Water pump, starter, generator, regulator, and complete new clutch part of rebuild. The car has a 6 V AC fuel pump that works great, but is a little noisy at idle.
The rear end has been replaced with a rebuilt 96 Ford Explorer 8.8" positrac with disc brakes. Parts to rebuild the original rear are available, but very expensive! The original rear is included in sale. The Ford rear works great!
Front brakes and wiring are new. The interior and wood graining was professionally done to come as close to original as possible. See photo of headliner with front to back seams.
The paint is driver grade, not show grade. The car looks good and gets lots of comments and thumbs up. The tires are too large. I guess a new owner will want to go with a set of 205/75/15 wide whites or similar.
The floors and trunk are solid. There was a little rust in the rocker bottoms. Those areas have been blasted, Por 15 painted, and then clad under with sheet metal. See photos.
The overdrive works great with manual controls. Have not tried electric overdrive kick out yet. All parts are there and are wired. The radio and clock don't work, but are included. All gauges have been professionally rebuilt. The fuel gauge works intermittently.
I rebuilt the small defrost heater on the firewall, but did not rebuild the big heater under the seat. All parts are there.
All lights and turn signals work great. Horn is not wired to relay at this point. Drivers door has new window regulator and latch mechanism.
Cars starts instantly and runs strong. Lots of torque from this big 9 main bearing flat head 8.
Please feel free to order an inspection of this car if you choose. The car is on a lift in my garage in Boise, Idaho. It is easy to look at and test drive. You will see that I have very good E bay feedback, and plan to keep it that way.
I will be glad to answer any questions by E mail or phone. two zero eight eight five three zero 8 zero 9. Leave message.
