VIDEO PRESENTATION BELOW See this '55 Packard in action & up close Video will open in a new window [isdntekvideo] VIDEO ABOVEA direct competitor to Cadillac, Lincoln, and Buick, Packard's Four-Hundred was priced at approximately $4,500, pricier than a Buick Roadmaster. This car touted torsion-bar self-level suspension, a first of its kind for passenger cars of the time. All of this car's rare brightwork, chrome & stainless is intact throughout and presentable. The paint is a very old finish that is checking and has chips and "patina" in several areas. The body panels are original front to back and very solid. This is a dry climate car and it shows.

The interior showcases buick upholstery front & rear along with beautiful gauges & trim. The very unique upholstery is showing age (see photos) but intact.
These tubes insert on the rear deck to direct cold air conditioning to you and your passengers. The driver's side rear tube mount is missing a few screws, the passenger side will stay in place. They are easy to remove.
The dash and brightwork is in great shape, showing 49,110 miles believed original to the car. The speedometer is working as is the temperature gauge, fuel gauge, and oil pressure gauge.
Note the paint chipping in large areas on the hood and fender area.
Under the hood is the strong running 352 cubic inch Packard Overhead-Valve V8. This 4bbl. powerplant has good power and is paired with Packard's column-shifted Ultra-Matic automatic transmission. These cars were known for their stout engines, rated at 260 horsepower & 355 ft-lbs of torque. The dual exhaust exits out of the rear bumper as Packard intended and sounds great, be sure to play the video.
This is a dry climate car, the door undersides are solid & original.
The floorboards are original and in great shape as is the X-Frame.
The original floorboards, rocker panels, and inner fenders are intact front to back. There is only some minor rust on this car, photoed below on one rear passenger side trunk area brace & some in the passenger door sill plate, rocker area, not through the bottom.
