Car description |
---|
THIS IS A 1956 CLIPPER DELUXE THAT I PURCHASED ON EBAY LAST YEAR.
ALTHOUGH I HAVE NEARLY ALL THE NECESSARY PARTS TO MAKE IT MECHANICALLY 100%, I FIND THAT I NO LONGER HAVE THE NECESSARY ENERGY AND INCLINATION TO DO SO.
THIS CAR IS SPECIAL BECAUSE IT HAS THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION WITH (WORKING) OVERDRIVE, WHICH MAKES IT A GREAT TOUR CAR. IT WAS ALSO DELIVERED WITH THE CONVENTIONAL SUSPENSION SYSTEM WHICH IS LESS PRONE TO ISSUES.
THE ENGINE IS TIRED BUT RUNS, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS SUPPOSEDLY "OVERHAULED" BEFORE I BOUGHT IT. I HAVE THE PARTS TO BUILD A REPLACEMENT 374 CI V8, INCLUDING THE INTAKE MANIFOLD AND 4-BBL CARBURETOR. THERE IS ALSO A SPARE 2-BBL INTAKE AND CARTER CARBURETOR. DON'T HAVE OIL BATH AIR CLEANERS FOR EITHER SET-UP.
MANY SPARE PARTS GO WITH THIS CAR, INCLUDING SPARE RADIATORS, 4 STEEL WHEELS, SPARE WATER AND FUEL PUMPS, A NOS SET OF PACKARD HYDRAULIC LIFTERS IN THE ORIGINAL CARTON, BRAKE PARTS, NEW ENGINE MOUNTS, EXHAUST MANIFOLDS, ENGINE SHEET METAL, FENDER SKIRTS, AND A SET OF NOS SMALL CLIPPER HUBCAPS. VEHICLE STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL EARLE C. ANTHONY (SAN FRANCISCO) DEALER LICENSE PLATE FRAME.
BUYER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR TRANSPORT OF THE CLIPPER AND ALL THE SPARE PARTS.
