Car description

1953 Clipper Deluxe

Several years ago, I bought a 1953 Packard Caribbean at auction. It was from an estate and the bumpers and grille had been removed for rechroming, and were not with the car.

I bought this beautiful 2 door clipper as a parts car for the Caribbean. I removed the show quality bumpers and grille to use on the Caribbean. I got a set of bumpers powdercoated fo the Clipper and put on a really nice 52 "toothy" grille, witch bolts up but leaves holes showing where the 53 grille ears would go. So, while the reupholstered interior, engine and drive train are all stock in appearance, the car has a bit of a street rod look.

I drove this car around a little, and it never needed a thing. Its got a frame mount fuel pump that is always on. I'd add a switch so you could use it just for starting. I put this car in indoor storage at the Forney Transportation museum about 2 years ago. Put up with a few gallons of gas and fuel stabilizer. Its also covered and with a battery tender. No idea if they actually have the tender plugged in. If you buy the car, that's where you pick up.

Car is offered as you see it- Powder coat bumpers and 52 grille.

I have the Caribbean for sale too, and the bumpers are offered with it as an extra. If they don't sell there, I'll sell them with this car for $2500 extra (see pics on roysvintagecars site) or $2000 extra when you bring back the 52 grille on a trade-in.

The only rust spot on the car is at the grille area on the right front fender. I'll give you an extra set of fenders for the car for $500 extra.

I have a running-when-pulled 53 engine with a 3 speed tranny still attached. I also have the pedals, linkage, steering column, and rear axle (just in case ratios are different) from the same donor car. My plan was to covert over to 3 speed. All of this, I'll sell as an extra for $1000.

There's a few paint chips on the car. Its not perfect, but its really nice, and fun to drive! You won't be disappointed, but I'll be sad to see it go.

I am not sure of mileage. Going from memory, pretty sure its about 80,000
