This beautiful old gal is a 1954 Packard Clipper Deluxe Speedster. She isn't a show car, ut she could be a really nice driver with a bit of work. She's technically driveable now, ut I wouldn't recommend it, ecause the brakes require a lot of pressure, nd the lights don't work.Condition:- The body is pretty solid. There's some rust in the rear fender wells, nd the body braces are rusted. The floor pan looks good as far as I can peel back the carpet.- It has a 20 foot paint job. Up close, ou can see it was an amateur job.- It starts and runs. It idles smoothly, ut it loses power quickly when you give it gas. It feels like a clogged carb jet or other fuel delivery issue.- The brakes require a lot of pressure to operate. This is likely a vacuum leak in the treadle vac.- The transmission pan needs a new gasket. If the car sits long enough for the torque converter to drain, t starts to leak.- Shifts smoothly- The original gas tank has been replaced by a fuel cell in the trunk.- The speedometer doesn't work- The odometer shows 74,596, ut I don't know how accurate that is since the speedo isn't working.- As you can see in the pictures, t has a custom continental kit. The rear bumper and tail lights are from a 56.I only drove this car a few miles to get it home from the auction where I bought it, ut I have to say it was a lot of fun. Plenty of honks and thumbs up. I'd like to keep it and drive it, ut I just don't have enough time or room in my garage to do the work.
