"Buttercup" - my 1949 Packard Deluxe Eight Club Sedan is a striking automobile. This rare body style, n this condition, n this color, s a hit with all who see her. And she drives as good as she looks. From behind the wheel, azing out over that broad hood and rampant cormorant hood ornament, ou enjoy a very unique and different driving experience.Buttercup has approximately 54,000 miles on her and and is now located in the Chicago area . She has recently been driven to the Studebaker Museum in South Bend, o Hostetler's Hudsons in Shipshewana, ndiana, he Gilmore Museum in Michigan and to the Packard Museum in Ohio. She is not a trailer queen, he is here to be driven and enjoyed, s is. Everywhere she goes people flock to see her. Buttercup was acquired from a southern California widow divesting herself of several of her husband's collector cars through a consignment broker. She is totally rust free and solid as a rock, s clean underneath as on top. This beauty was owned by a Judge who had several cars restored to be classy drivers and I have approximately eleven thousand dollars in receipts for work he had performed, xcluding the repaint. The car has a clean California title. Because of its style, ts fantastic color (Packard Maumee Maize) and its imposing dimensions, nbsp;this ultimate fastback cruiser stands apart. It draws more appreciative looks than almost anything else I've ever owned. At local car shows and cruise nights it usually wins at least a "People's Choice" trophy. With its seamless streamline moderne lines, orgeous period correct woodgrain and fabric interior, uality construction and silent, mooth running motor she speaks to everyone who sees her of a gentler time when cars were carefully built to last by skilled craftsmen. Though 1949 was Packard's biggest sales year ever, t is thought that less than five thousand Club Sedans were produced.Buttercup is a turnkey car that I now drive several times a week. I can provide receipts and records for the following work:Electrical: New Battery and cables, new plugs and wires, istributor rebuild, new points & condenser, new cap, une-up, new wires and shrink-wrap.Fuel System: Fuel tank clean and recondition, new fuel sending unit, ines blown out, new electric fuel pump and wiring, eat shielding, ebuilt carb, new fuel filter, new NOS gas gauge,Cooling System: R&R radiator, ecore, new thermostat & NOS water distribution tube, oses, elt.Brakes: R&R master cylinder, one, lush entire brake system, ebuild wheel cylinders, hoes and drums are excellent.Other items: New harmonic balancer, ront engine mounts, iming cover, ront crank seal, ressure wash and paint engine block and underhood parts, &R manifolds and hot tank, new gaskets, efurbish trunk with POR 15 and undercoat, tc. All new fluids and frequent oil changes with Rotella and stabilizer.New quality repaint and www tires, lus myriad small items. If I was younger - I'm almost 79 now - and hadn't downsized from a house to a flat and lost storage space, I'd make this a keeper as it is a very usable, eldom seen classic car that is fun to just take out and drive. It will certainly continue to appreciate in value. You cannot drive this Packard anywhere without people waving, onking and asking questions. The car runs as nice as it looks. The 130 HP, 88 ci square-stroke straight eight purrs and runs smooth as silk and delivers that famous Packard "limousine" ride quality. The three speed shifts perfectly, rakes and steering, ires and electrics - all good. Only the radio and the clock remain to be brought to life.It has a nice, new original style interior of high quality that is super comfortable and looks very elegant. All the original wood-grain is in great condition. The engine compartment is clean and fresh., ngine repainted correctly, anifolds hot-tanked, ir cleaner refinished, ires heat shrink wrapped, tc. etc. "Buttercup" was recently completely serviced and lubed, he pan was dropped and cleaned and she runs effortlessly with Rotella 15w40 and Lucas Oil Stabilizer. No smoke, o drips. She is an absolute pleasure to drive. Fire her up and she's ready to cruise. When she's running there is almost no vibration to detect. She's a real Packard. Obviously, s Buttercup is now 66 years young, his sale is "As Is, here Is" with no warranty expressed or implied. I have bought half a dozen collector cars online, ll sight unseen, nd sold a similar number the same way, ith 100% positive feedback. I will assist in shipping any way I can, ut the shipper must be chosen by the buyer. Buttercup is a solid, eautiful time capsule - and should only go to a good home where she will get the TLC she deserves.
