Car description

This Teal Blue 1994 Saturn Coupe comes stocked with 144 volts of power. It is equipped with 12 Dekka sealed Dominator AGM rechargeable batteries and one 12 volt auxillary automotive battery that I purchased new (and from the same production lot) when I obtained this car in 2005. All standard systems of the car are in place and work fine; from the five speed transmission, ights, m-fm cassette radio to the air conditioning. Yes, ir conditioning. This car, nlike many converted electric vehicles on the road, as fully functioning air conditioning. Electric power comes from a standard 110 household outlet, ot a special 220 circuit. This car is made to be useful, ommon-place and driven.

Vehicle History:

Converted by the Bearskin Company of Monroe, orth Carolina, or York Technical College in South Carolina, his pristine car has only been driven 2766 miles. Please note this conversion was done on a brand new vehicle, hen used by Duke Energy Power Company to showcase a battery powered electric vehicle. The original factory owner's manual is included as well.

Technical information:

(from Wikepedia) TheS-Seriesfrom theSaturnautomobilecompany was the first series of Saturn vehicles. It implemented aspaceframedesign, lso seen on some Pontiacs, hich meant that the side panels did not carry load and could useplasticpieces instead ofmetal. Thesepolymerpanels were dent-resistant—something that remained a selling point for Saturn until the brand's demise.(end) This also lightened the overall weight of the vehicle making it ideal for a conversion of a full size vehicle from gasoline to electric.

I chose this vehicle because more than 20 years later, t still leads at the forefront of current conversion electric vehicle technology incorporating high capacity, o maintenance batteries, nd a proven platform for conversion and ultimate usage. All systems of the car are in place and work as they should:

· five speed transmission

· interior, ignal, azard, rake and pop-up headlights

· manual mirrors

· manual windows

· am-fm cassette radio

· rear window defroster

· air conditioning

· electric heat

· retractable sun roof/moon roof

· driver's side air bag

10 batteries are housed mid-frame in a special aluminum custom box (replacing the back seats) that is sealed from the top with a custom molded plastic cover. These 10 batteries (120 volts) are separated by insulated foam ensuring a tight and secure ride, et allowing for usable cargo space in the trunk area. In a recessed custom built compartment in the trunk, re the on-board charger built by Quick Charge Corporation of Oklahoma City, klahoma, Curtis PMC Controller and a Curtis DC to DC converter. Two more batteries (24 volts) along with the accessory battery and electronics are secured under the hood.In the center console area of the car is an E-Meter showing voltage and amperage to let you know how much "juice" you have left and to show your power demand.

Range in an electric vehicle is dependent upon driver (lead foot or old man driving), peed and grade (hills/flat land) and temperature extremes (hot and cold). The shelf life of batteries can vary greatly based on those conditions above, hat is why I bought all new batteries from the same lot. Having an electric car that consistently performs requires thought, riving intelligence and knowing how to maintain the batteries at peak performance, hich hopefully insures long battery life.

I have a full schematic of the vehicle systems along with manuals for the electric components. This vehicle was serviced and maintained by local EV technician Jeffrey Reiss.

This vehicle needs all batteries replaced. There are also minor spots where the paint has come off due to transporting the car from South Carolina to Florida. A small number of thin gauge wires for low voltage accessories need to be reconnected/replaced due to age.

Terms of Payment: $500.00 non-refundable deposit by Paypal, ith the balance due within 7 days from the close of the auction/listing, ompleted by wired bank transfer. I will help in buyer's shipment of vehicle (if necessary), ut will not be involved in securing, eposit or payment for these services to a third party.

Since this vehicle is used, here is no warranty implied or expressed.
