Car description |
---|
I am selling a very nice 1959 Impala Coupe with 58K actual miles. If you have been looking for a 59 that does not need a lot of body work...keep reading. Originally "satin beige" with copper interior, the car was repainted white several years ago and I am in the process of prepping it for another paint job. I do not have documented history on the car, but the previous owner told me it spent most of its life garaged in Florida. I believe him, because the car is in great shape.
BODY: As seen in the pictures, the typical rust areas are solid. Floor pans show only surface rust and the trunk pan is excellent. The frame and under-body are in great shape. All the quarter panels appear to be 100% metal and are also in excellent shape. The hood and trunk lid are strait and function as they should. Both C-pillars and the passenger side rocker panel are the only areas that need minor work. The rocker panel is the only place on the car that I can find evidence of filler. The C-Pillars are still extremelysolid, but they both show minor rust that was hiding behind the trim. Overall, the body on this car is in great shape.
INTERIOR: Both seats and the headliner are original and in excellent condition. All interior trim pieces, dash and gauges are also in excellent condition. The door panels and the rear-seat side panels will need recovered, but the required metal pieces are present. Will need carpet, I threw the old stuff out. All glass (except the windshield) has been removed, but will be sold with the car. The windshield has a chip and the the chrome window frames on both doors will need replaced. All interior and exterior chrome pieces are in good shape, but have earned a little pitting over the last 60 years.
ENGINE: Original 283 starts right up. Car will be sold with the original 2-barrel intake/carburetor, along with the 4-barrel intake that is currently on the car. I have only driven the car a few miles so I recommend the car be transported via trailer until the mechanicals are verified.Buyer is responsible for getting this Impala to its new home.
CURRENT STATE: The chrome and trim on this car is all original and in very good shape. As seen in the pictures, the car is 90% disassembled, with only the dash and headliner remaining. Pictures with chrome/trim were taken by the previous owner. I have all the chrome/trim carefully wrapped and labeled in my basement. This is a very desirable, unmolested survivor car that can be easily restored back to original, or you can build your dream car. If it does not hit the reserve price, I will build my dream car. Please DO NOT bid if you do not have the funds. My name is Mike, call with questions (260) 228-0105. Thanks for looking.
