Fresh out of the San Diego Auto Museum a 1959 Metropolitan 1500 Series III Convertible.
Fully restored and quite drivable until a recent mishap with the engine. Threw a rod- see pictures. The engine will need to be rebuilt "AGAIN".
All new paint, interior, top, chrome, radio, carpet, tires, hubcaps, brakes, tuned, carb rebuilt...- THE WORKS!*just check out the restoration pictures- down to bare metal, and fully documented. Additional pictures are available. I also have a photobook fully capturing every detail of this restoration process.
Recently on display at the world renowned San Diego Auto Museum- documentation included.
Sadly with all of the money put into the restoration, I am not in a position to pay forthe engine to be rebuilt again. As the saying goes "my loss is your gain".
Up until my motor mishap, this was a fully running, shifting, stopping, show stopping, smiling gaining, award winning little car- ALWAYS the bell of the car show.

A BARGAIN for anyone with a spare, or a shop. I have some additional bits and pieces that will be going with the car.
This is a very early model from September of 1958, so it DOES (DID?) have the Hi Compression 1500 cc introduced for the 1959 model year, but does not have the opening rear trunk deck, or side wind wings.
Obviosley, this little beauty is not running at this time.
