Car description

42' DIVCO VAN/'MILK TRUCK' CHEV. CHASIS VERY RARE/ NO RESERVE
Prior to the US involvement in WWII a few of these vans were produced. Soon after in that year the production of trucks were allocated to the government for assistance in the war effort. Difficult to actually estimate a number of these vehicles remaining but thought to be very low. A google search of the 1942 DIVCO gives you some idea. The Van was used in the promotion of a yogurt store after sitting for around 40 years. It was said to have been a milk delivery truck, road repair vehicle, and was even an ambulance at one time.Approximately two years ago the tires were replaced and the sanding and paint was completed. Used an industrial white paint that is not show quality but is definitely presentable, (see pics). The fluids were change, and the fuel tank replaced, rebuilt the carb, brake cylinders and replaced water pump and she fired up. Runs and drives. The clutch is a little weak and needs to be replaced. We were invited to participate in parades and of course people loved the grinding horn that gives that distinct sound from the times long gone. So to drive is simple enough but to pull a steep hill without momentum the clutch will slip. but fine to move about on flat terrain. This vehicle has a distinct look and appears almost cartoon like going down the road. Some would like to take it to modify into a vintage mode and I have seen some very impressive ones. But I have not seen a 42' Chev. Divco. Own a piece of rarely seen history. Great for catering truck, promotional truck, or as we did a conversation piece at the yogurt store. Store expansion no longer allows the needed space. The vinyl stickers can be removed with the assistance of a heat gun.please contact me with questions regarding this vehicle. Can be delivered on an open trailer within the US for a dollar a mile both directions, but prefer you make your own arrangements for pickup.
Due to questions regarding 'model number' and dimensions a couple of pictures have been added. The ID plate is attached to a header above the windshield.
