You are bidding on a completely original 1975 Jensen-Healey MKII Convertible.
A little about the history of the Jensen if you are unfamiliar with the cars…..The Jensen-Healey (1972–76) is a British two-seater convertible sports car the best-selling Jensen of all time. In total 10,503 (10 prototypes, 3,347 Mk.1 and 7,146 Mk.2) were produced by Jensen Motors Ltd. in West Bromwich, England. Launched in 1972 as a fast, luxurious and competent convertible sports car, it was positioned in the market between the Triumph TR6 and the Jaguar E-Type. The 50/50 weight balance achieved by the use of the all alloy Lotus 907 engine led to universal praise as having excellent handling. Competing directly with MG, Austin Healey, Triumph and Jaguar.
This particular Jensen Healey is a 1975 MKII model, making it one of the last produced and one of the most sought after today. It has the 5 speed transmission, wood grain dash, clock and other improvements over the earlier cars. More importantly is that this car is almost COMPLETELY original. Having spent its time in the hands of only a few nurturing owners. Presented today as it was when it rolled out of the factory in West Bromwich England. It is in extremely good, well maintained original condition as can be seen by the photos. You would be hard pressed to find a more original car in this condition.
The exterior of the car (paint, chrome and glass) are all in good condition. The Paint itself is almost all original with nary a blemish to be found. The black convertible top and clear plastic window are original to the car and in nice condition. The car also still retains its factory hardtop which is as well in fantastic condition both inside and out.
The interior of the car (seats, cockpit, carpet, door panels and dash) are also in very good condition. The dash top has absolutely no cracking and that beautiful wood dash has a nice patina. The vinyl seats show very little wear. Although not original, the racing seatbelts add a nice sporty touch to the car. All of the original vinyl Jensen Healey floor matting is also present.
Mechanically the car runs and drives as would be expected from a low mileage car in this condition. It starts easily, idles great and runs strong with the Clutch, Transmission and Brakes all working exactly as they should. Even the dash clock and factory radio are doing their part and working properly. Recent service history includes carburetor rebuild, new timing belt and brake service.
All 5 factory wheels are present and in good condition while riding on practically new Kenda Kenetica 185/70R13 Radial tires.
Included as well are the original tonneau cover, a custom convertible top boot cover, factory tool kit, all original owner’s manuals and factory documentation including service manual and factory workshop manual.
