I own a restoration shop and this is a car I am selling for a customer. It is a 1928 Hupmobile Century Sedan. This car sat in a warehouse in the San Francisco bay area from 1969 until 2000. It was then cleaned and made to run again. We think the mileage is correct at 37. 86. It is hard to say but we think it is the original paint or it was re-painted 50 or 60 years ago. All the upholstery is original and still in pretty good usable condition. The body is in real nice condition with no dings or dents to mention. The doors are real solid and shut tight. I have found no rot in the wood or rust in the metal anywhere. All the glass is clear and the windshield cranks out for fresh air. The tires were new a few years ago and might have 500 miles on them. The mechanics are just about perfect. The engine needs nothing. It runs great with plenty of power and no smoking. The clutch and transmission work exactly as they should. No slipping and no noises. Rear axle is quiet. The bottom line is that this car runs and drives great. It has four wheel brakes and stops fine. The steering is tight and needs nothing. Fun to drive as is or do a light restoration. i. e. new paint and upholstery. This is a hop in and go car showing its 87 years of patina. If you want to see and drive the car I am about 18 miles east of Sacramento just off Hwy 80 going towards Reno. Nev. Call Bruce weekdays at 916-652-6852.
