Listed for sale is our 1931 Auburn 8-98 Boat Tail Speedster. Let me start out by saying that this is not a "from the factory Boat Tail". Years ago we started looking for a Boat Tail Speedster project, and were unable to find one. We ended up buying a 1931 Auburn 8-98 Cabriolet project. The Cabriolet was a pretty complete project and in need of a full restoration. After having the Cabriolet project for a few years, we found a ACD club member selling a Boat Tail Speedster Body and parts. After talking to him a few times, we bought the Speedster body and parts. The body is a all steel body, with the correct wood structure. Coach built by John League years ago, the speedster body is like brand new, and in very nice condition. We then pulled the Cabriolet body off of our 1931 Project car, and re-bodied the Cabriolet with the Speedster body. The Speedster project is very complete with just a few small items missing. Windshield frame, wiper motors, hood latches, tail light stands, buckets and bezels have all been re-chromed. The Speedster body, hood, running boards, doors, grill shell, grill, lower grill pan and convertible deck lid are in excellent shape. The fenders and rear gas tank cover need a little metal work to get ready for paint. The engine is a complete Lycoming straight eight engine #GR32323A. It would need a complete rebuild, and has never been taken apart. The frame is complete with all brake parts, splash pans, drive line, gas tank, brackets and mounts. Axle # A24725. This Speedster is a very hard to find project, and is the only all steel Speedster Project on the market for sale. If you have any questions about the project please send a email. There are inspection companies that can look at the car on your behalf, or a time can be set up for you the view the car. A part trade would be looked at towards the Auburn Speedster Project, We have more cars and projects for sale on my website wildironccc.com On Jan-27-17 at 10:01:17 PST, seller added the following information:
