There are a number of companies producing a replica of the famous Porsche 550 Spyder, some great, some just OK and couple absolutely terrible. The Beck is probably the best known, longest production and in the opinion of many, the most well executed of all. I have had six of these magic little cars and this one, short of a brand new showroom item, is the best one yet. Correctly titled in CT as a 2004 Beck Spyder this one has a correctly displayed CT assigned vin number and was purchased from the original owner who bought the car from Kevin and Carey at Special Edition brand new in 2004. Since I have never titled the car one can say that it is still a one owner car. The original owner was a very knowledgeable Porsche enthusiast with other models also and took good care of it, he simply hasn't used it much in the last few years hence the sale. The car is completely original as produced by Special Edition with most if not all of the options available in 2004 short of some of the badges and the headrest. It has the standard 2000cc engine built by CB, the Rancho transmission, top and curtains, passenger grab bar, front grille, 4WDB and a still new spare tire mounted on a chrome wheel like the others. There is also included new front rugs from Fibersteel although the ones in the car are fine, and extra set of floor mats, a useable jack and I have just received from Special Edition a new in the package tonneau cover with new snaps and a pair of new Empi polished aluminum valve covers. Since the car has not seen many milesin the last few years it seemed prudent to go over the car completely since my original intention was to be able to use this car daily weather permitting. With that in mind the following was completed: new battery with shut off, brake system flush with DOT4 fluid added, complete new fuel system from tank to carbs including the installation in the trunk of a NASCAR style fuel shut-off, fire extinguisher in the cockpit and an exhaust repaint. The fuel shut-off is installed in most collector cars I have and is especially useful in a car such as this with a gravity feed fuel tank, not only a safety factor but another deterrent to the theft of an easily stolen car. The paint on this car is still very nice with a small number of stone chips, chrome wheels are good aside from a couple of small rust spots and the interior is nice as well. Brakes and tires well all inspected and deemed in good condition and everything electrical is working as intended including the failure prone headlight dimmer. Title is as stated a clear and open CT item showing the car purchased new and indicating the assigned vin number installed on the door pillar. This tile is all that I have and all that I will have for this car as MSO paperwork is surrendered when the vin number is assigned. Some states have unusual and admittedly annoying regulations regarding replica vehicles so a prospective buyer needs to do his due diligence with their personal DMV to be sure their ducks are in a row before purchase. Please don't ask me what is required in state X,Y or Z because I know very little about this. The car is available for inspection by appointment but there will be no test pilots thanks to Mother Nature, salt on the roads, the lack of license plates and my bad attitude regarding someone crashing my car. This is not a fire sale and no trades are invited.
