Here is my little British runabout which is just about perfect for runs to the supermarket, local parades and nearby (and not so nearby) car shows. It's still a kick to have people point and grin as we pass by and to have people track me down in parking lots with their questions. The Singer Gazelle was produced for several years as a re-branded Hillman Minx after having been acquired by the Great Britain's Rootes Group . It is unrelated to the Singer Sewing Machine Company ( you'll get plenty of good-natured ribbing about that)and shares only the name Gazelle with the numerous Gazelle Kit Cars available on eBay and elsewhere.Singer Gazelles were imported into the States and Canada in very small quantities and fewer still remain in both countries. My car spent the first 50 odd years in California and came to me with black plates. Since then I have used it summers in N H and more recently winters here in Florida and always in covered garaging and storage. I have no idea what the actual miles are but was required to insert miles which I did from the existing odometer..My contributions to the car have been the Taylor top, the Coker WWSW tires and attention to the fuel pump, starter motor, master cylinders and all the tiny things you do to keep your car happy. The car starts and runs and travels down the road extremely well and now thanks to recent and expensive brake work it stops as it did when new. There is no serious rust in or out of the body, certainly no rust-through and I believe the body and frame to be solid.Do us both a favor and come and inspect and drive the car . . .you wont regret the experience. The car was sold several months ago but the sale was mutually cancelled for family reasons and I was focused on my impending trip North for the summer..Oh, and legalese : AS I, where is and without warranty of any kind. Thanks for the visit now bid early and often.
