Car description |
---|
I am selling a 1976 Citicar.
The 3.5 hp electric motor is powered by 8 six volt batteries located under the seat.
This car needs some work to get it on the road.I bought it running and after driving it for a little while I started taking it apart to do repairs. It ended up halfway disassembled in the back of my garage.the batteries were disconnected and the old (dead) charger was removed (included in sale), and brake lines and bumpers removed.while working on it I cracked the dashboard off but the gauges are still there and wired up.I removed the axles sanded off the surface rust, prayed them with rustoleum paint, and reinstalled them with new bolts I also took off the brakes and cleaned them. The shocks were worn and need to be replaced. The plastic body has a few small cracks (most notably the roof and passenger door, pictured) but should clean up well (covered in dust from a year in the garage)
The previous owner upgraded the speed controller to one from a Gem the original is included. He also got the plastic wimdows redone, and replaced the brushes on the motor. He replaced all 4 tires. And added wiring to attach another battery in the "trunk".The chassis is aluminum so no rust, batteries from May 2013 (about a year ago they were left with half charge and full water, dont know how they are now), has original manuals including full service manual, all wiring diagrams, and owners manual, has a clean New York Title in hand. Also comes with a set of new retractable seatbelts. Will be happy to answer any questions
