Car description |
---|
Here we have a 1953 Kaiser Dragon. This is one of approximately 8 cars built for the 1953 show car circuit. All were Kaiser Manhattans pulled off the line and fitted with Tan leather interior, blue bamboo vinyl top and special blue exterior paint and gold anodized wheels and the Dragon gold trim. You can see what this car would look like when restored as there is a picture of one in the March 1985 edition of Collectible Automobile on page 35.
As you can see this car needs a total restoration and is not for the faint of heart. It will require lots of hard work and money to have this car in show condition once again. The engine is free but I have not tried to start it. It will of course need rocker panels and some floor work in the front section near the kick panels which is common on these cars. It will also need repaired over the rear wheels. It is complete and not missing any of the Dragon specific trim needed to complete the restoration. It appears to be a original car and the mileage appears to be correct although I have no documentation to prove that.
I also have a 53 Manhattan that I will sell with a good body and solid floors. It is partially apart but I have most of all the trim and other items including the engine and transmission that belong to the car. I can send more photos of that car if needed as I can only list 24 in the ad.
Please feel free to contact me by phone or thru eBay messaging. I can be reached at 570-460-8395 EST. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time as the car is for sale locally. No warranty offered or expressed. I will accept as payment personal check, bank check, bank wire transfer or cash in person. All funds must clear before vehicle is released. I require a $1,000.00 non-refundable deposit within 48 hours of auction close. Please contact me by phone before any deposit is made. I have clear title to both vehicles.Vehicle must be removed from my property within 30 days of auction close unless other arrangements are made before auction closes.
