Car description

Planning on moving by the end of the year and wife says "Freeway must find it's own new home" so... reluctantly, put it up for sale. I really haven't been very attentive to it for many years - too many other projects got in the way. I hope it will go to someone who can appreciate the machine, ut more importantly, he extras items that will go with it.

This is an all original, ellow, 980 Freeway Deluxe w/ 16hp motor. It has a few problems but all parts are here. I believe the Deluxe means Sunroof, adio Antenna, amp; Cabin Heater which it has. Recent photos (over 50!) have been downloaded to PhotoBucket. You should be able to get to them here ...

Some of the extra parts are...

Comet Duster Clutch, IB Driven Clutch Cams, 5 and 41 deg. Comet Activator Pucks, lue (6) and white (3 in original pkg) Comet Sew-On Patch, n pkg HMV labeled Drive Belt, ever installed Gates Drive Belt, n pkg Michelin XZX 145SR12 spare tire on factory white wheel Optional HMV plexiglass Headlight cover, ever installed 2 extra Moon Hub Caps, ever installed Extra seat cover, ever installed Wheel hub, OS Extra Drive Chain, n pkg

These extras are not needed to complete the Freeway. They were purchased by previous owners for future updates.

Plus ...

Original HMV Owners Manual "Jerry's Freeway Service Manual" A couple of other "manuals" Freeway Newsletters from 6/1981 (vol.#5) to Summer 1984 Other Misc. HMV and Comet documents

This machine was originally purchased by Don Martin of SD in 1980 then went to Bill Hossfield of NJ in 1982. I purchased it from Bill in 2002. The price I'm asking is for a good almost-on-the-road machine AND a lot of hard to find original parts and documents. The price is $ 3100/Buy it Now for $3500.

It's been a couple of years since I've turned it over and about 9 since I drove it on the road. Always garaged. Some rust and pitting on the fuel tank that was abated when I got it. Inside the fuel tank should be cleaned out. Frame is very good. No suspension travel on the right, rozen torque tube. Windows are good except for one crack - see photo. From reading newsletter Vol.1 No.6 and a letter from Don to Bill I would say the speedo is incorrect. Lastly, he muffler was fixed and welded but the guy didn't line it up correctly. It needs to be cut and re-welded.

Vehicle needs to be picked up asap. Message me if you have any questions!

Husband said lower the price - so I did!! Took $400 off both prices!!
