1965 White Sunbeam Tiger
Performance 260 Ford V8 Engine 4 Speed Manual Transmission Updated Superlite alloys Listed in Norm Miller's Tiger RegistryMotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this handsome and rarely seen 1965 Sunbeam Tiger. This is the true classic motorsport enthusiast's car! Understood to be a Arizona car, t's brilliant Alpine white paint job shows extremely well with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. Both the front and rear bumpers fit nicely and compliment the body. The newer soft black convertible top looks great with no rips, ears or staining to the rear plastic rear window.
The Sunbeam Tiger is a high-performance V8 version of the British Rootes Group's Sunbeam Alpine roadster, esigned in part by American car designer and racing driver Carroll Shelby and produced from 1964 until 1967. Rootes also entered the Tiger in European rallies with some success, nd for two years it was the American Hot Rod Association's national record holder over a quarter-mile drag strip .
Inside, he recently upholstered black front bucket seats and rear cargo compartment and all look great with no major signs of wear visible, lso in excellent shape are the door panels, arpet and dashboard, lso upholstered in black. Other interior features include nicely finished wood dash panel with full set of correct gauges, ooden steering wheel, ood shift knob, enter arm rest and more.
This Sunbeam Tiger is powered be a 260 Ford V-8 engine (visual confirmed with the 5 bolt bell housing and a 6 inch space between motor mount bolt holes) topped with an Offenhauser intake and Holley 4 barrel carburetor, hrome valve covers, hrome breather and air cleaner, erformance headers and stainless dual exhaust linked to a 4 speed manual transmission. Mechanically the car also boasts rack and pinion steering, ront disc brakes, 4 inch Superlite alloy wheels wrapped in 195/60R14s tires, ote: wipers are currently inoperable. This extremely good looking and rare Tiger is a well equipped roadster with V-8 power and classic British styling.
While the car was undergoing restoration with its previous owner, he original JAL tag turned up missing. We reached out to the renowned administer of the Official Tiger Registry Norm Miller (who knows this particular car) first with a telephone conversation, nd followed up with a letter (which is included with the car) from Mr. Miller. He researched and verified the original JAL and has verified that this car is indeed a genuine Tiger.
