1955 Powell Sport Wagon
Ultra-rare California made vehicle.
This is one of 1,020 made in Compton California in 1955/1956. This is one of the very early ones, erial # PMC2083. Only seven older ones are known to exist. For more information on the Powell, lease visit the registry at
http://clubs.hemmings.com/powellregistry/registry.html
It is estimated that of the roughly 130 still existing, nly around 20 are complete and roadworthy. Some of those are in museums. This is an extremely rare vehicle that will only appreciate in value.

This is an opportunity to own a unique bit of automobile history.
General condition
The Powell has been stored indoors for many years. It is complete with many extra parts. Most everything needed to get it on the road is included in the sale. Powells were built on '41 Plymouths so all the mechanicals are cheap and available.
Body,
The body is straight and clean. There are a few minor rust bubbles on the lower passenger door as can be seen in the photos.
There is a crack in the bed on the passenger side that will need to be addressed. This can also be seen in the photos.
The tailgate appears to be original but will need some adjusting to fit correctly.
The fiberglass front nose is in perfect condition with no cracks or signs of past repair.
All trim is in place and in good condition. All three Powell emblems are on the body and in good condition.
The bottom of the bed is missing; it is my understanding that this was simply a sheet of plywood when new.
Engine
The original flathead six looks good with all accessories. It turns freely with the starter and has good compression over all cylinders. Will need carburetor and ignition work to run. The only visible issue is a weeping freeze plug on the driver's side. This should be an easy fix.
Trans and driveline
The transmission shifts through the gears. The clutch seems to function as it should. The drive shaft and rear end seems to be in good condition. There is a leak on the side of the transmission at the linkage.
Brakes
The system will need some attention; a new master cylinder and a set of slave cylinders are provided. The E brake works well.
Tires
The tires appear to be new; they are white walls with the white wall turned in.
Glass
The glass is out of the car. The windshield is broken and can be used as a pattern; it is flat glass. One of the side windows has a crack, gain flat glass.
Interior
Not much to it; looks to be original (see photos).
Documentation
Clean California non-op title. Also a thick three ring binder with brochures, rticles, pecs, hotos, ust about everything about Powell, here is even a framed portrait of a Powell.
Many spare parts are included as seen in the photos, ull set of hubcaps, xtra carburetors, oneycomb radiator, ew gauges, tc., tc.
This would be an extremely easy car to bring back to like new condition!!!
