Car description

1966 Ford Mustang

NO RESERVE

Hi, hanks for checking out my 1966 Mustang. I am a Mustang nut, ave owned over 150 I suppose in my lifetime, nd I don't think there is one that I have not liked. I love the looks of them, ove the way the drive, estored or a major project, hey are just really special to me, have never been without one in my presence since I was 17, hey are just cool cars in my book. I acquired this car recently from a retired couple who had it for a number of years, hey hoped to finish it one day, ut they travel so much these days it was time to turn it loose. I love finding old Mustangs, hey are not the flavor of the month kind of classic car, hey will always be sought after, hey will always be collectable, nd they will always be fun to drive, nd I know that is a fact, been driving them for over 30 years.

Condition: There are over 75 photos below, nbsp;Overall, his Mustang is a very good driver. The paint is very old, as lots of touch ups, hips and scratches. The chrome has pitting, nd some of the stainless has dings, ut it is all there, ould use a good buffing on the trim, r replace it, ustang reproduction parts are very inexpensive and parts are really easy to find, o a Mustang is a great start for a new collector. The paint I would say is around 20-25 years old, t is old, ou can see it in the pictures, little wavy down the sides, ou notice more in a shop with lights, r in the shade, tried to take a few in the shape down the side so you could see. Out in the sun, ou don't notice it as much, ust looks like a nice driver, t does catch your eye when it goes down the road, t does have some fading and discoloration. The frame rails underneath are solid, ront and rear, o signs of any accidents, retty straight forward. The floors have been replaced, hey used original stamped panels. They tried to do a good job, ut the welding in was not the best. If you were going to take the car to the next level, would clean up the welds, nd re-weld them in, he hard work was already done. If you are just planning on making this car a nice weekend cruise in car, nd repainting it one day, hen I would just seam seal the seams, aint the bottom or primmer it, nd call it a day, onestly how many people are crawling under a car at a car show, ol. This car is a good old car, few bubbles in areas, he common areas are in both areas in the front door corners, he doors in general are in good shape, nner jams look good, nder the door looks good as well. The door jams are in nice shape, o signs of accidents. The 2 door stoppers with the little springs are missing in each door, y the hinges, hese stop the door from opening to far, hey are easy to get and replace when you repaint the car. The door locks both work, he lock on driver's door is a little loose, hink the spring clip might be missing on backside. The trunk pan is original, nd looks good, eeds some cleaning. Inner quarter panels look decent, n the driver's side rear quarter behind the wheel area, t has some filler in it. You can see on the passenger side, ear quarter there is some bubbling around the wheel lip. The car probably has some filler used here and there on it, t is older repaint, nd always been a driver. One area that the body line is off, s at the bottom of the driver's fender, ou can see in pictures. Overall, or a nice little driver, his is a good car for someone who is getting into the classic car market, r just want to have a nice little Mustang. I would drive this car, o small upgrades and just enjoy the heck out of it. Would make a great father/son/daughter project.

Interior, s actually pretty decent, ery nice fitted carpet, he seats are decent for just starting out, ery usable and clean. The front seats, ave some splitting on them, nd some wear as you can see in the photos, ut for now they look okay. New seat covers for the front are cheap, round $150-200, nd if you are good, ou can learn to install them yourself. The rear seat is in really nice shape. Headliner is excellent, nbsp;no holes ore tears, think someone replaced it a while back, he dome light is not in the roof and no hole is cut for it yet, ut the housing is probably under the headliner. The carpet is in excellent shape, s well as the dash pad. The radio works, as a mismatched knob on it, ou can also see a backer plate behind the radio, ere someone had a different one in it at some point. Overall, he interior is very usable as a driver, ook at the pictures and you will get a good idea of what it is and isn't. Non-smoker, s well, mells like an old car, ut not like a really old car if you get what I mean. This is the kind of car where I would let me wife or kids drive it, nd know that it will get them there and back, nd the interior is not a turn off, t looks decent, nd in pretty nice condition. The dash lights work, ll the gauges work, il pressure is very good, ver half way just at idle. The amp gauge does not move, ut that is common these, o hard to tell if it is working. The horn is not working and cigarette light is not working. Glass is in good shape, o chips in the windshield or cracks. The door glass is good, ut could use new window felts, asy to install, hey roll up nice as well. The quarter glass is in good shape, ut you have to ease them down and guide them, ut they will roll up and down, he drivers side is a little bit more finicky then the other, eally needs to be lubed probably. In general take a look at the pictures, f you have question give me a shout, am easy to work with.

The engine starts right up, nline 200 6 cylinder. It has been hopped up a little bit, as a mild cam in it, or just a little more power, nd upgraded with a 2V carb, eally nice Ceramic coated header, hich feeds into dual exhaust, t doesn't sound like grandmas inline 6, onestly at idle it sounds like a V8, nd is very snappy. When it idles you can tell it does have a lope in the cam, t is not a stock engine. The car rubbles, or sure when it's running. It is a little cold blooded, o it likes to warm up a bit before you drive it. If you take off to soon, ou have to really have to feather the gas and brake a little bit, o keep it from shutting off, nce its warmed up, t does pretty well. It could probably use a good tune up and general, o get it dialed in though at idle. Out on the road it really drives great, lenty of power, retty snappy actually, ery smooth running. The engine was gone through a few years ago, on't know much about the internals, ut it is a great running little engine. The transmission is an original 2 speed automatic and it does shift great There are a few areas on the transmission where there is a little seepage, round the shifter shaft, t is moist a little bit, nd the tranny pan gasket has some seeping as well. I am going to put a new pan gasket on it, nd that should help it a little as well, nd tighten all the fittings. With that said, t is pretty minimal, just wanted to mention it in general. The brakes seem to be in good shape, t stops good, have never taken the brakes apart and looked at them, hey are drums all the way around. The steering is good, ut there is a little play in the wheel, ox may be worn, nd it wonders a little bit, o major pulling but at times it can drift either way slightly, t is and old Mustang, nd I doubt the front end has ever been rebuilt with new bushings. For a driver it is great, t gets you to where you need to go, nd this is one you can restore as you drive it. It has good power, oes not blow any smoke, ery clean running. The wheels are vintage true Wire wheels, actually really like them on this car, am not normally a big fan of these, ut they really look nice and give this Mustang a nice face lift. The Grand Am Radial GT tires are in nice shape as well, ith decent tread on them around 60%, o wear patterns, hese will last for some time. Wheels are 14" and tires are P215/60/14. Mechanically the car is sound, t might need some things here and there, ut overall, t is a very solid driver, nbsp;that you can enjoy. Odometer reads 46072, hese are only 5 digit, o awesome it has turned at least once. The Vin, nder hood, oor tag, nd title all match, o if you are an International bidder, verything is in order for smooth paperwork, hat goes for US buyers as well.
